  • Assembled twattage managed to get the piano upstairs without too much hassle in the end, but to everybody's surprise. We got fed, watered and the violin was inspected and set up properly by the piano owner, so we've just got about 45 minutes before we're off out again to a gig.

I'd quite like to just go to bed. I'm tired.

Leopard Slugs are your friend. Not only do they have a rather astonishing pattern on the bodywork, they eat all the other slugs.

While weeding today, I was fairly amused to find a large leopard slug right next to.....almost cuddling up.... to a baby newt! Both seemed quite happy.

Glad someone else is happy with their friend's 'pre-loved' clothes. My favourite summer trousers were de-cluttered from a friend's daughter as she was preparing to go to uni......she is now 28!!!!

Well done Iona for the completed assignment.

Lots of bits today, what's new.
    - cleaned a few areas in MIL's flat as she is staying with BIL for a couple of weeks.
    - weeded under Asian pear tree which is full of alchemilla, heuchera, ferns, slugs and newts.....
    - helped Mr N prune the plum tree
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

I am wearing my sister's old jeans, and a cardi gifted to me by a former colleague. If people didn't pass stuff onto me I'd be half naked lol.
    Have ironed and pegged out.

I feel like carp - have sobbed on and off all day. It doesn't get any better.

  • Oh Vailli you have done sooo well, you are allowed a few bad days here and there.

House fairly tidy, all laundry done except a few oddments that need ironing. Finances checked and some paperwork done for DH. Early start tomorrow, taking in part in a charity bike which I am terrified about. Suppose its good to be challenged though.
  • Classy people at this gig. One decided that I had offended him by not showing enough teenager like excitement over one of the bands, so he emptied an entire pint of lager over me.

At £4.70 a pint I think it's hurt him more than me. And he should have checked that his man bag containing his iPad wasn't on the floor by my feet, as I 'might' have accidentally trod on it five times and hoyed it into the middle of the crowd whilst he was turned away laughing at his true fan behaviour as I walked out.

How much do ipads go for once they've made a crunching sound under your boots?

Think I've helped him declutter around six hundred-and five-quid. That's Flylady worthy, isn't it?

    Definitely :T:rotfl::T:rotfl::T:rotfl:

Not done much today, but I feel all the better for it:
    - decluttered more sleep on the sofa whilst watching the Saturday cooking programmes
    - made one short phonecall
    - took Rosie out twice and DH out once (we went to 2 GCs)
    - bought some plants and bulbs; spent what I saved on the bulbs with various vouchers in one GC on the plants at the other GC :D
    - had a "free" coffee at the second GC
    - taught Rosie to play "hunt the kibble" round the LR
    - printed out some quiz sheets
    - cooked a yummy tea
    - stuffed a k0ng for Rosie that kept her occupied for about 7 minutes instead of the usual 5
    - watched some TV with DH, for a change

Will be going to to bed soon as I need to be up early to finish something off before church. G'night all.

I got a letter and prescription re the last lot of bloods I had done so we shall see I guess.. I might have to ring to see what they want before making an appointment first.. don't want to waste anyones time!

Unfortunately Piggers, he was the size of a shed. After I left and was standing outside, a tiny woman using a crutch came out and I hear her saying a big, fat lump with a beard had kicked her in the ankle because she refused to dance for 'his band' when he told her to. Last thing I saw was several even larger bouncers heading upstairs with bouncing on their mind.

Himself is fuming, but I wasn't about to tell him right away. He complained that this stuff only happens when he's away at the front, thinking everything's fine - well, of course it does - that sort of oaf never does anything when there's a male around, even a little one, as they're cowards still resenting the fact they weren't popular at school.

This is why I prefer playing gigs or doing merch than attending them as a punter. Once you're in the band, there's usually a stage between you and the muppets and if not, you've got at least a drummer ready to go at a word.

However, when checking my phone outside, I got a lovely email from my old boss telling me that the kids I taught sound and lighting tech to last year and kept calm when it was going down to the wire for assessments all got excellent passes and there was no way they'd have done it without me. Obviously, this will not be an opinion shared by Those On High, as in their opinion I am of limited use and ornament, but it was really nice to hear it from somebody.
