Toffee vodka is horrible! I tried it last year and its still sat in my fridge because I refuse to throw it out. One day it will either throw itself out or I will find something to do with it.
i agree i made it last year and it was vile (but then again i don't normally drink lol) but others who do also said it was vile. I think i went wrong in using cheap vodka, can you use an alternative? (you can see i don't drink, as i haven't a clue on what most alcholic drinks taste like lol)

Vodka is clearly good for you.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
The werthers original tastes like baileys
Whoever it was that said they would probably drink a bottle of this over a couple of nights let us know when you have tried it, it nearly knocks your head off! lovely thoughLoretta0 -
OMG I just stumbled across this thread and am sooooooooooo glad I did !!!
Toffees on my shopping list - already have the vodka
I think toffees and chocolate would be scrummy0 -
Ok so I bought my vodka (not tesco value, the next one up, and a packet of worthers originals. The vodka seems to be melting the toffee, but I have to keep pouring vodka into my glass to allow for toffee displacement and its giving me hiccups.
Used worthers original hard ones and they dont quite fit in neck of bottle so having to smash each one.
Now is 1 family packet enough? its only been going an hour and a nice cloudy colour and have 8 left to smash up and add, but each time I displace a bit it rips my head off, not sweet at all at the moment.
Any thoughts?I think I am going slightly mad.....0 -

That's the funniest thing I've read for ages and I've got a vivid picture of you making Toffee Vodka! My guess is that it takes a while for the vodka to take on the sweetness.
Good luck :beer:Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -

Blinkin ink, give it time
I think one family packet is enough.
Once all the toffees have dissolved put it in the fridge for a couple of hours and start again
I think its soooo much nicer from the freezer. It somehow seems creamier? Might just be my imagination though
I reckon if you're still tasting it then you are halfway down the bottle and it tastes just fine now anyway? :rotfl:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
How much vodka do you have to take out of the bottle to fit a packetof Werthers in it? And what size of Werthers pack is it?0

Am going to sound thick but have never heard of Toffee Vodka but would like to try and make some. Is it something that is best made earlier to get the better taste in time for Xmas?
What do you store it in? Can it just be left in its original bottle? If I stored it in the fridge how soon would I have to drink it - would probably drink over a couple of nights anyway :rotfl:
