I have seen the toffee vodka mentioned here before, and when I was in Sainsburys doing my weekly shop I decided to grab the stuff to make it ... only now I'm a bit confused ... what size bar of galaxy caramel should you use?? I bought the normal bar with 6 bits in (about 45p), but also bought a big bar of dairy milk caramel (about £1.25) ... anyone made it before and knows which size I need ??? .... obviously I will just eat the remaining choccy

Hi,
I am not sure about toffee vodka, but I made mars vodka, I put 15 chopped mars bars  in two kilner jars, and topped it up with vodka, the mars bars have now disolved, but I will leave till xmas, its looking good though. I am not sure you have enough chocolate, you may have to eat what you have and get more tomorrow.
Hope this helps0 -
I use a big bag of werthers originals to make my toffee Vodka ka ka
Just chuck the toffees in and let them dissolve.
I know that some brave people put the vodka in the dishwasher on a hot wash to melt the toffees or whatever else they add but I'm not that brave.
I do store it in the fridge though once its made.
It tastes much nicer that waySometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

I use cheap vodka when I make toffee vodka. To be honest I've not tried it with expensive vodka.
Its not a brown sickly mess - honest.
It goes a creamy beige sort of colour.
It really is best kept in the freezer though.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

Cool. Tescos value it is then - might give it a try. Do you keep it in the freezer before or after the toffees have dissolved?:T0 -

Is that 15 full sized mars bars? Sounds heavenly! I might have to try the mars and werthers version as I've developed quite a liking for Vodka since I went to Poland!Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -

After.
Let the toffees dissolve first, give it a good shake & put it in the freezer :jSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Am going to sound thick but have never heard of Toffee Vodka but would like to try and make some. Is it something that is best made earlier to get the better taste in time for Xmas?
What do you store it in? Can it just be left in its original bottle? If I stored it in the fridge how soon would I have to drink it - would probably drink over a couple of nights anyway :rotfl:
Thanks for any help definately liking the sound of toffee vodka :j:beer:0
