What a fantastic thread! I am definitely going to be making some different flavours as soon as i can get some smaller bottles.
I have 6 50ml bottles which are currently filled with a variety of sherries. They came in a souvenir box from the Tio Pepe winery in Jerez. I bought it because i love the box, but i'm not so keen on sherry.
I'd like to reuse the bottles for the vodka but am loathe to waste the sherry. Does anyone have any ideas/recipes to use it up (other than trifle)?
thanks0 -
I use a big bag of werthers originals to make my toffee Vodka ka ka
Just chuck the toffees in and let them dissolve.
I know that some brave people put the vodka in the dishwasher on a hot wash to melt the toffees or whatever else they add but I'm not that brave.
I do store it in the fridge though once its made.
It tastes much nicer that way
Me too... it is divine and so so easy"People buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like" - Clive Hamilton on Consumerism.0 -
http://www.waresofknutsford.co.uk/ i just received my first batch of these wonderful kilner bottles and have made Werner's, blackjack and blackcurrant/liquorice vodkas. The latter one is such a beautiful colour. I have put Christmas ribbons on them and have made some labels but does anyone have any good ideas for labels?0

Look for recipes using Marsala wine as the taste is very similar, it gives a rich flavour, if you aren't sure you will like it I would make it separately and serve in a gravy boat, here is one :

Hi everyone, I posted in the 'flavoured vodka' topic on the OS board yesterday...but this topic looks like it gets more attention...must be more alcoholics...i mean alcohol lovers here :P
Anyway...I was looking for a recipe for strawberry vodka. I looked through quite a few vodka threads on here and found ideas for lots of different fruits but not strawberries. Has anyone made strawberry vodka? (Real strawberries..not strawberry sweets)..and if not then would you just use a recipe for another fruit and sub that fruit for strawberries?
If noone is sure then I'm sure I can find a recipe using the power that is google...but would rather hear if someone on here has made it so they can say how it was, and if they would change anything :P
Thanks in advance for your help people!:D0 -
