What a great idea. I'm thinking of doing this using Asda Smart Price tomato ketchup bottles since this family seems to get through so much of the stuff. I've not long thrown the last one away (typical!), but the current one is only a quarter full already. There's also a Smart Price brown sauce bottle in the cupboard with about an inch left in the bottom of it that I've got my eye on now
I like the idea of these because they're clear (like Vodka bottles usually are), you'd save them up quicker than olive oil bottles (this family would, anyway), they're small enough to get two gifts from one bottle of Vodka, and because it would be easier to get the toffees etc in as they have a very wide neck (which makes the ketchup come out too fast, leading you to buy much more of it, which is why I am waiting for my salad cream squeezy to finish too, so that I can decant ketchup into it. And then decant the vodka into the ketchup bottles. Such complicated lives we lead
).
I'm wondering about other variations too. Chocolate lime Vodka sounds appealling, but would probably have the 'pond water' look. Turkish Delight Vodka? Not sure if that would work, but it still sounds like a mistake worth drinkingEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
I'm going to have a bash at pear drops vodka this year. I bet it will taste great :beer:Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0

Have any of you tried Jago vodka? I don't normally drink but my dh took a bottle home when he was working in Lerwick. I've never tasted anything like it. It's like liquid alcoholic ice-cream! You can't stop licking your lips and going mmm. I gave my boys a wee taste and you should have heard them (they're teenagers
). It's vodka, cream and vanilla. It's heaven in a glass.
Just gorgeous! I don't like the taste of alcohol and that's the reason I don't drink. This is something that would make me change my mind but i'm scared to start incase I can't stop lol. It's a bit too sickly to drink a lot of it though so it probably wouldn't work out that dear.

Have just found this site, which is more like a picture guide to making your own flavoured vodka, unfortunately they haven't got a results page yet

I have been inspired by you all to flirt with flavoured vodka.
I'm going to try some different flavours using miniature bottles with a selection of assorted sweets/chocs from the pick and mix section at the supermarket, so I can sort out which flavours I like for a larger bottle.

What a great idea, I made some limoncello in the summer if anyone wants the recipe? (basically lemons, sugar and Voddie) My friend drank the lot in one sitting. I'll add Werthers to my shopping list.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

I've just bought, lemon, strawberry, pineapple, werthers, blackberry sweets. 2 sweets of each. Do you think 1 sweet per miniature would be enough
I did wonder if the lemon sweets would make something similar to Limoncello0 -
I made skittles vodka last year and that was really nice. I couldnt drink normal straight vodka but as this was sweeter it was nice. Juast use one colour of a family sized bag.
I also tried toffee vodka with bad results. I should have used the werther type sweets but someon gave me some devon clotted cream toffee so I used that. It tasted ok but the only thing was that because it had cream in it seperated out in the bottle and you had to shake it before you drunk it and it didnt look that nice wheras the skittles one was clear and red!0 -
Toffee vodka is horrible! I tried it last year and its still sat in my fridge because I refuse to throw it out. One day it will either throw itself out or I will find something to do with it.The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0
