Totally agree. Makes you seem almost extravagantly ostentatious. In these days of austerity and will look even worst after fuel prices go up again as the year advances.
Charity card Christmas sales will undoubtedly feel the pinch.
The cards most likely cost less than the stamp to send them!
Yup, this year i cut down several friends i always made a point of sending cards to but haven't seen one in return for years.
Awkward when this happens with older friends.if you  don,t know if they,ve stopped sending cards for financial or hassle reasons or if they,ve died.    I didn,t send any cards one Christmas  due to illness and an ex boss subsequently phoned and said "I,m ringing up to find out whether you,ve died because a lot of my contacts appear to have done so !   He always was a plain talker but it made me laugh !
Lol! That is quite amusing, deff something some of my family / friends would say.
I can categorically say these friends have not died, unless they post on FB from beyond the grave. A mix of haven't got time because of kids, finances, perhaps we are not on their card radar anymore and just CBA. I historically did as a way to say 'i may not see you often but I still think of you' buy given i never even got a chat message to say thanks, I'll use my time / effort elsewhere.

Today I received my new Swap-Out stamps. They have sent me all 'normal' first class stamps instead of a quantity of large firsts that I sent.
I have to say that I'm not really bothered about it because I so rarely used the Large ones anyway so the 'normal' ones will be of much more use to me. A little confused though!
So how many Large Letter did you send them and how many "normal" firsts did they send back to you ?

Presume you got the same VALUE back ?

Quick estimate is that you should get a little more than THREE normal firsts for every TWO LLs

A bit of more accurate maths - the first converging point of "equal value" of both stamps is £27.55

    That's 19 x 1st class Large Letter stamps and/or 29 x "standard" 1st Class stamps

I sent 78 Large Letter stamps and received 78 Barcoded First Class (normal) ones - value £113.10

Does anybody know whether the Correctly Delivered and Unaddressed mail surveys operate at a National or regional level?  I always check my available surveys section when I see messages about others getting invitations but it occurred to me that these might be done regionally only with selected participating advertisers.  Certainly some of the advertising material I receive is often of a local nature.

Anyone else having problems with the unaddressed mail survey?
I’ve got a list of leaflets that I should be  expecting but the picture is blank on both the app and the website.
    Same here!
    And now they’ve vanished completely.
Yep the same has happened to me!

BUT 78 x "small letter" First Class stamps are only worth £74.10

You've lost £39 on the deal

Even if you don't want Large Letter - you should challenge it.  If they agree, they will make up the difference in more 1st or 2nd to the correct total value.
I need to think of something new here...

Will wait to see what happens with my large first class stamps which I,ve just returned separately.
definitely challenge the deficit though. Thwt,s fraudulent behaviour.  Possibly because the handlers are not skilled at arithmetic and can,t work out the correct amount to refund in terms of stamp quantity but it should not go unchallenged.

But they ONLY need to be able to count
Shouldn't have to work out any conversions or values

You send in 78 LL stamps you get 78 LL stamps back !
