There are "Drop & Go" counters in some post offices, which is supposed to be faster. I've never used the service, so don't really know much about it. I wasn't sure if it applied for the parcel bags we have to send off.

I got a Fee to Pay card last week.  Stuck some stamps on it (I've got lots you know!) and sent it back.  Today - it arrived and it's a test item.  Small White with no stamp.  The details inside suggested it should have been franked, so maybe a machine fail and the sender didn't check/notice.

So I've notified Kantar - it's actually a drop-down in the Send Message options and I guess I'll get some stamps back....
    Got my reply today:
    Kantar said:
Thank you for contacting us. We’re sorry that you have been sent a test item with insufficient postage, and for any inconvenience caused. We can reimburse your postage costs either with 1st Class stamps or reward points. Please confirm which you prefer and we’ll get them sent out to you.

That's good. I've asked for Reward Points and they will be credited in a few weeks.
    Kantar said:
If this should happen again, please contact us before going to collect the item and we'll send you the cost in stamps upfront. If you stick the stamps to the card left by Royal Mail and put the card back in the post, Royal Mail will redeliver the item to you.
Erm... How do I know it's a test item before I've paid to get it? If it's from someone else entirely - Kantar have just given me £2 for nothing...
I got a Fee to Pay card today.

I'm in the "resting" phase so it shouldn't be a test item.  I'm tempted to get Kantar to send me the stamps anyway...

But I'm sticking a couple of Large 1st on it (I've still got more than I need) to see what arrives.  If it does turn out to be a delayed test item then Kantar can stump up some reward points for it.
I need to think of something new here...

Just started back on the panel after a 6 month break and received this message

So we can reach our data targets for your area, we do need you to mobile verify as many of your items as possible.  If you are unable to provide any mobile verified data, we'll have to take you off the survey- and we don't want to lose you!

If you have any questions, please send us a message

Should I just contact them and advise them I can not provide mobile verification would have been a good idea if they had stipulated this when they invited me back on to the panel as I had no idea this was now compulsory.

I'd ignore the message.  Continue with the survey as normal and wait to see whether they do remove you.

For the length of time it takes them to realise you haven't used mobile verification, you will probably have received more stamps and had the opportunity to gain the odd £2 for posting a parcel sack.

I would expect they would give a "final warning" before actually ending your participation.

[I too can't do the mobile verification at the moment.  Some day doubtless it will be worth getting a smartphone but I can't justify the cost for the odd occasion when it would be helpful - eg being able to show tickets on my phone instead of paying 20p to print one out.]
I have just joined the panel and got this message after posting my first items. I did try to post using the app but it didn't work on my old Galaxy S6. Is my mobile too old or is the app flawed?
I'm currently using, very successfully, a Samsung Galaxy J3 running Android 5.1.1
I can confirm that the app works with a Galaxy S6. Unlike other apps I have used it didn't request access to my location. I had to grant this manually. Seems to function ok now.

On the test period phase and although I have been using the app to input data today I received this message

    Hello,

We’re writing to let you know that we have had to take you off the Royal Mail Survey panel.

As we mentioned previously, we needed at least 40% of your sent items to be entered on the app and verified through location access. This provides us with verified data for when and where you posted each item. The majority of the sent items you have recorded unfortunately weren’t mobile verified. This is information we do require, so unfortunately we have had to take this step. We’re sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

We’d appreciate it if you can return any RFIDs in the envelopes provided. You can order more envelopes by clicking here.

If you have any outstanding reward points, you can still access your account for 60 days to redeem them. After this period your account will be closed.

[I thought I responded about an hour ago but it's disappeared.]

    So

Did they originally tell you there was a 40% requirement?
Did you use the app for at least that?
Were you connected and within range of the postbox at the time of recording?

I have been a member of the panel for a large number of years after my last rest period I was invited to take part again there was no communication at this time to state that the rules had changed and mobile verification of sent items was now required as if this had been made clear I would have declined the invite with the new posting sacks and lower incentives and having to now use a mobile the effort would not have been worth is

within about a week of sending the first test items I received the message

So we can reach our data targets for your area, we do need you to mobile verify as many of your items as possible.  If you are unable to provide any mobile verified data, we'll have to take you off the survey- and we don't want to lose you!

At the time I was just going to contact them and say I couldn't provide mobile verification but I decided to download the app and give it a go for the last 2 weeks 4 of the 5 items sent were done via the mobile verification.

I queried this today and have had a reply saying the items could not be verified as the gps data is not showing me at the post box as I was walking away when inputting the data had no idea you actually had to stand at the post box and input the data they have now explained this and allowed me to continue on the panel while advising me of how to use the app to input data

Looks like they are making using the app mandatory and for me this is a step too far so I have advised them I am not willing to stand at an exposed post box especially in winter using a mobile phone so I am happy for them to remove me

Plus there's the fiasco of swapping over thousands of stamps I don't really need any more

I did some in the first week - returned in about 5 days.  However, reading in other fora - the more complex the collection the longer it might take.
I need to think of something new here...
