Rarely ever had one in the several years I have been on the panel so that is why I assumed it was to do with the one wrong item I received.

I would so much prefer 2nd class stamps for Christmas cards. I'm sure everyone thinks I'm mad sending them 1st class - just because I have them!

Totally agree. Makes you seem almost extravagantly ostentatious. In these days of austerity and will look even worst after fuel prices go up again as the year advances.  

Charity card Christmas sales will undoubtedly feel the pinch.

Yup, this year i cut down several friends i always made a point of sending cards to but haven't seen one in return for years.

Yup, this year i cut down several friends i always made a point of sending cards to but haven't seen one in return for years. 

Awkward when this happens with older friends.if you  don,t know if they,ve stopped sending cards for financial or hassle reasons or if they,ve died.    I didn,t send any cards one Christmas  due to illness and an ex boss subsequently phoned and said "I,m ringing up to find out whether you,ve died because a lot of my contacts appear to have done so !   He always was a plain talker but it made me laugh !
