  • I sent off 60 first class stamps via the Freepost address (<£200 value). Within a week I had received replacement stamps. So far it's been a smooth and quick process. I will wait a few weeks and send my remaining stash.

Unlike me you did not complicate the process. Well done!

Sent my final outgoing today - along with the leftover RFIDs as requested...   20 minutes later, postie brings me a Medium Parcel to log (and another RFID).

First time I've had one to log in the app - which asks me to scan the barcode - no problem - then next question asks if there is a label with a barcode Huh? wrong way round surely?

Also - the app has now changed the question about how it arrived to have an option "Received from Postal Worker at first attempt"  Last time I logged a cube it still said Postman so I'm glad they've caught up.
I need to think of something new here...

I noticed the illogical order too.  (I can't scan as I don't use the app - no smartphone in household - but did enter the number satisfactorily before getting the question of whether there was a label.)

Got my replacement stamps yesterday - 60 First Class and 40 Large First Class. Replacement barcoded stamps came in a single Flat Sheet and not in books. Not quite so convenient but they will get used.

Anyone else having problems with the unaddressed mail survey?
I’ve got a list of leaflets that I should be  expecting but the picture is blank on both the app and the website.

Mine are showing fine on the website.

Swap out stamps arrived this morning.  No recompense for the SD postage although mentioned in the letter, seems to be a bit of a theme. Contact form sent.

Posting pack this morning with bar coded stamp on test item.  Will be able to start using up my lockdown unsent envelopes I still haven't managed to use up myself :)

    As I said 10 days ago in a post 6th April ...

... THERE IS NO MENTION of 2nd Class stamps being returned as compensation for using the recommended Special Delivery service for an over £200 value stamp swap out

Have you checked and counted the number of 1st Class and 1st Class Large Letter stamps that have been returned to you compared to the quantity that you sent them ?

The 2 references that suggest using Special Delivery for OVER £200 and detail covering the cost of its use...

    The original Stamp-Swap-Out-Terms-and-Conditions - Section 24

    24. If you use a standard swap out form for values of £200 or less you must send your swap out form to the Freepost address specified at www.royalmail.com/barcodedstamps. If you use a swap out form for a swap out of £200 or more, we recommend sending your swap out form using a service with adequate compensation cover for the value of the non-barcoded stamps you are sending to us. When you send your swap out form for a swap out exceeding £200 using a Royal Mail delivery service, we will compensate you for the cost of that service by returning additional barcoded stamps equal to the value of your postage cost. Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed is the most appropriate service to use for swaps out exceeding £200 (the Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed service gives you the option to purchase up to £2,500 in compensation cover, whereas other Royal Mail services will not offer any compensation for swap outs exceeding £200).

... and the Stamp-Swap-Out-Form-over-200-pounds itself - GENERAL ADVICE bullet point 8

Postage costs will be refunded, if sent by Special Delivery GuaranteedTM, by sending you the equivalent value in barcoded stamps added to your swap

So IF you used the "basic" SD service - that's weighing more than 100 grams but less than 500 grams with up to £500 compensation it would cost £7.65 ...

... and so following their guidelines to reimburse you this amount (£7.65)
the stamps returned to you would include some ADDITIONAL ones

    5 EXTRA 1st Class stamps (5 x 95p = £4.75)

    PLUS

    2 EXTRA 1st Class LARGE LETTER stamps (2 x £1.45 = £2.90)

    which would be PERFECT

    £4.75
    £2.90
    -------
    £7.65

    One final thing ...

On the "Stamp-Swap-Out-Form-over-200-pounds" you sent off with your stamps You DID fill in the POSTAGE COST box didn't you ?

Because at the side of this box it does say

"(if left blank we assume you don’t want to claim the postage)"

A one line reply would have sufficed.
My mistake on the make up of the recompense.
As with other posters elsewhere the letter with the stamps stated that recompense was included but only the swap out stamps were in the envelope and invoiced on the packing slip.
