Good day for me, especially on the back of yesterday. Feeling much more positive, and hopefully tomorrow's car news doesn't set me back.
I use an app on my iPhone called 'OneDox', it's relatively new I think, but I love it already. They're still building more functionality into it, but it basically allows you to track various household accounts all in one place. So I have my car MOT/tax dates, my mobile phone contracts, my gas/elec contracts, and my tv/broadband contracts and it sends you notifications when you're nearing renewal dates. You can link it to Dropbox (if you use it) so it automatically downloads all your statements for you which is great, because if you're anything like me and you switch suppliers regularly to get better deals, I often forget to download my statements. Most importantly though, for things like your gas/elec contracts, it monitors usage/bills and compares the market to find you cheaper deals. It flagged up that I could save £177 a year on my current EDF 'Blue+Fixed Price February 2018' tariff. I logged onto my EDF account and switched to a similar tariff but fixed until October 2018, with no exit fees. Indeed, reducing my projected spending by £177 over the next 12 months.
Anyway...back to the point of this topic!
£10 Argos voucher claimed this morning after redeeming Nectar points.
SkyStore voucher claimed for approx £8 redeemed in the SkyStore.
£9.64 from matched betting.
Plus I've done a few PA studies today. £4.40 balance with £5.35 pending. I won't claim this until it's passed the £5 mark though.
Total for me today then is £27.64, and just over £6 away from hitting my target for August. Delighted with that!
Thank you to everybody who posted re: freebies for baby stuff etc, I've spent a couple of hours signing up to various sites and claiming various freebies which will definitely come in handy.0 -
VintageHistorian, I hate keyboard warriors. Well done on achieving your weight loss. I am a comfort eater and I know I am. I also eat through boredom.
I wouldn't think about putting money aside for a treat for the future. All my money gets used up before then. I think a small slice of cheesecake was a lovely reward and it fitted into your budget.
I would have said well done and hope you enjoyed your treat. Honestly one bit of cheesecake would not put it back on.0 -
Well done cufc_mike. That app sounds wonderful can I give your our car insurance details and gas and electric and leave you to source us a good deal please?
I did comparison on hubby's insurance and can't get it lower because of the rise this year without a stupid voluntary excess. I havent even done mine yet.0 -

So today I had 1p roadkill
I've done another mystery shop.
I was contacted to say I went to the wrong place on a mystery shop yesterday - but they're still paying me as someone else did the one I was supposed to be at - no I don't understand it either!
I have just sold a swimming costume on eBay for £12.50 - not been paid yet. Hope it doesn't turn into my 3rd non payer. I have mystery shops Thursday, Friday and Saturday - mainly meals - but one is a beauty treatment. All good!
I've been asked to go to London for a magazine fashion photo shoot today - it is making me laugh a lot! I've said yes because it's something different and I am about as far from model material as you can get. I've asked my friend to go with me and it should be a good laugh. All expenses paid and meal provided - I have been in papers and magazines before as it's my job but a fashion spread is something else!! They want what they call 'real women' as opposed to models - how funny x
I was bought a cappuccino at another meeting today - I know that's not a big deal but it's another time for me to reflect on me not paying.
Have a lovely evening all xx
Thank you so much for the link, and for going to the time and trouble to find and post it in what sounds like a very busy life. You're a star:A. I'm going to read up all I can on it and set myself some goals but not 'join' an actual challenge as once I commit to something I have to see it through and I've made myself very stressed and miserable in the past through honouring commitments:o. I'm planning to do it just to motivate myself in little ways, not to have a total life-change.
What an exciting life you lead:j. The photoshoot sounds brilliant. Enjoy every minute of it:beer:
Well done on the eBay sale. I hope this buyer is genuine;)0 -
What a fabulously supportive thread (not always easy to find on some forums), have just caught up on everyone's posts.......
I totally agree with that, ziggy:T:beer:
I thank my lucky starts that I stumbled across this thread a couple of years ago. I came for money-making ideas and motivation but have gained so much else that is totally priceless. Massive thanks to everyone who has come and gone from the thread in that time and especially to the stalwarts who are absolutely:A:A:A0 -

Well done, Aesop for everything you've done (and are still doing) to make this the number one place to be on MSE:T:T:T. Thanks to Lynne too for being a great assistant:T:T:T
Here's to everyone who makes the thread what it is:beer::bdaycake:. Sorry it's a birthday cake. I couldn't find an ordinary cake so just ignore the candles;)0 -
If anybody else has Sky TV, download the MySky app and activate your Sky VIP if you haven't already. You can then pick up free tickets to various events, and there's the SkyStore voucher too.
Thanks for this tip. Just downloaded the app and see I can get a free movie and DVD. :j
