When I was contacted and asked I said yes straightaway - and said to myself 'just say yes' - something nice. The lovely stylist sent me some previous photo shoots and the ladies look fabulous.
Wow - that is an impressive loss! When I was at university my grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and I ended up putting on a stone in weight in a month as I just took to comfort eating. I joined a website for weight loss, which included what I believed was a very supportive forum. Made good progress and hit my target for 1/2 a stone loss in good time, so I posted about my success and confessed that I had bought myself a slice of cheesecake from a supermarket as a treat. I'd been SO good up to that point and it had been really difficult so I felt that I needed a little reward, and as it was one slice from a supermarket it was under £2 which was pretty much all I could afford at the time.
Some of the replies I got were absolutely horrid! I was told in no uncertain terms that I shouldn't have had the cheesecake as a reward because I was only on that site due to my "unhealthy relationship with food", and that I was just reinforcing that relationship and would soon put all that weight back on as it was clear I hadn't learned anything. I was informed that I should have bought myself a DVD as a reward or had a "day out somewhere nice". When I explained that a DVD or a trip were a bit out of my budget I was then told I should have thought of that in advance and saved up. Great in hindsight, but not helpful at the time.
In the end the comments gave me the motivation to lose the other 1/2 a stone just so I could cancel my membership and get off that site. Some people just love having a good judge!
That sounds like a horrible forum.. I would have had the cheesecake and not felt guilty for a one off. People can be so judgemental and it's easier online because you don't actually know the people and so you are emotionally detached,2025 decluttering: 5,000 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟2025 use up challenge: 362🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge +4/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 120/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 5000 -
Good day for me, especially on the back of yesterday. Feeling much more positive, and hopefully tomorrow's car news doesn't set me back.
I use an app on my iPhone called 'OneDox', it's relatively new I think, but I love it already. They're still building more functionality into it, but it basically allows you to track various household accounts all in one place. So I have my car MOT/tax dates, my mobile phone contracts, my gas/elec contracts, and my tv/broadband contracts and it sends you notifications when you're nearing renewal dates. You can link it to Dropbox (if you use it) so it automatically downloads all your statements for you which is great, because if you're anything like me and you switch suppliers regularly to get better deals, I often forget to download my statements. Most importantly though, for things like your gas/elec contracts, it monitors usage/bills and compares the market to find you cheaper deals. It flagged up that I could save £177 a year on my current EDF 'Blue+Fixed Price February 2018' tariff. I logged onto my EDF account and switched to a similar tariff but fixed until October 2018, with no exit fees. Indeed, reducing my projected spending by £177 over the next 12 months.
Ooh - I am so going to check this out, it sounds great!

I agree:T. Those who make the nasty and cruel remarks forget that although they are doing it anonymously through cyberspace they are still talking to a real flesh and blood person. I also think we often tend to be less guarded online, opening up about issues that we wouldn't want to confide to people we know in real life. Sadly, with so many cruel people about online our honesty and candidness leave us open to a lot of hurt.
I think the detachment aspect also comes into play when complaining about services and goods. I'm a real wimp and would run a mile from any face to face confrontation:o but I have so much more confidence to stand my ground when having to make a justified complaint over the phone;)0 -

Sorry you've been ill, Netty, I hope you are feeling better now:beer:.
Well done on reaching your target despite not being well:T0 -
Is it just me or does anyone else feel that they spend an inordinate amount of time online just finding out about things?. I mean things like researching prices when selling things, gathering facts on all sorts of topics, just trying to find out about things in general.
I've always had an insatiable thirst for information (usually totally useless information:o) but I certainly didn't spend as many waking hours in the library searching for it in pre-internet days as I do now on my laptop. Maybe not even having to get out of my chair to do it has something to do with it, plus the fact that everything anyone could ever want to know is readily and instantly available online;).0 -

My life isn't boring that's for sure.
Re what you say above it has made me smile - yes I spend ages doing that but it's part of my job - reading parts of the internet and writing for other bitsxx
I've added £12.51 from an ebay sale and a penny roadkill!0 -
