So today I had 1p roadkill
I've done another mystery shop.
I was contacted to say I went to the wrong place on a mystery shop yesterday - but they're still paying me as someone else did the one I was supposed to be at - no I don't understand it either!
I have just sold a swimming costume on eBay for £12.50 - not been paid yet. Hope it doesn't turn into my 3rd non payer. I have mystery shops Thursday, Friday and Saturday - mainly meals - but one is a beauty treatment. All good!
I've been asked to go to London for a magazine fashion photo shoot today - it is making me laugh a lot! I've said yes because it's something different and I am about as far from model material as you can get. I've asked my friend to go with me and it should be a good laugh. All expenses paid and meal provided - I have been in papers and magazines before as it's my job but a fashion spread is something else!! They want what they call 'real women' as opposed to models - how funny x
I was bought a cappuccino at another meeting today - I know that's not a big deal but it's another time for me to reflect on me not paying.
Have a lovely evening all xx
That's fabulous Mrs Cautious. In my eyes we are all models of all shapes and sizes, not what the media dictates. X0 -

Yes absolutely. I've gone from a size 22 to a 14 (in places) my confidence was shattered by grief, and it has been a fight at times to get it back. When I was contacted and asked I said yes straightaway - and said to myself 'just say yes' - something nice. The lovely stylist sent me some previous photo shoots and the ladies look fabulous.0 -

I think we don't take enough time for just something for us. I am very guilty of that.
My lovely friend said to me today her husband got a bonus from work. He works extremely hard, long hours etc. With his bonus, he has joined an expensive gym. Yes it's extravagant but it's his bonus, he has worked hard for it and I say good on him.
I like having a really nice haircut and nice hair wash. These days I find both are rushed and it doesn't feel like a treat anymore. It's a quick get you in and out even if shop is empty.0 -
Funny how we are all different. I hate the hairdressers and am happy to be in and out as quick as possible.
How exciting for you Mrs Cautious!! Enjoy your day!!:D
I could kick myself.......I have just reached payout on shop and scan and seem to have clicked the amazon voucher that they send through the post instead of getting a code I can use straight away.
Ah well.......my order for toilet rolls will just have to wait. :cool:Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

I'm good at telling other people they need to take time for them - not at all good at doing it myself! X0 -
Little treats are what get us through the year. You know what it is that makes you feel a little bit better, and if you're happy with it then go for it!
When I was at university my grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and I ended up putting on a stone in weight in a month as I just took to comfort eating. I joined a website for weight loss, which included what I believed was a very supportive forum. Made good progress and hit my target for 1/2 a stone loss in good time, so I posted about my success and confessed that I had bought myself a slice of cheesecake from a supermarket as a treat. I'd been SO good up to that point and it had been really difficult so I felt that I needed a little reward, and as it was one slice from a supermarket it was under £2 which was pretty much all I could afford at the time.
Some of the replies I got were absolutely horrid! I was told in no uncertain terms that I shouldn't have had the cheesecake as a reward because I was only on that site due to my "unhealthy relationship with food", and that I was just reinforcing that relationship and would soon put all that weight back on as it was clear I hadn't learned anything. I was informed that I should have bought myself a DVD as a reward or had a "day out somewhere nice". When I explained that a DVD or a trip were a bit out of my budget I was then told I should have thought of that in advance and saved up. Great in hindsight, but not helpful at the time.
In the end the comments gave me the motivation to lose the other 1/2 a stone just so I could cancel my membership and get off that site. Some people just love having a good judge!"You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

What a fabulously supportive thread (not always easy to find on some forums), have just caught up on everyone's posts and wow, some great totals. Today I can add
August 8th:
Shopmium - £1.00
Interest on savings - £209.42 (wasn't sure whether to add but it's money I didn't have and I'd forgotten this was paid out yearly, plus its an account that I never touch)
Asda price Guarantee for online shop - £4.86
Being a member of this group has also encouraged me to keep on with the surveys so building a nice pot of points (which I'm going to claim nearer the end of the month) - so building great habits too, thanks for all your support and inspiration.
Keep up the great work :T:TGoodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75

What a lovely post. THANK YOU.
And yes you can include interest.
Someone asked me a few months ago if I had a link to the very first make £10 a day thread. After much searching I found it.
I have linked to it in the first post. It makes great reading and makes you realise how much the thread has developed and how far we have come.
The first post is supportive too from the original make £10 a day thread.0
