carbootcrazy wrote: »Just reading back through the thread to find something and spotted this. The idea of students doing anything to my teeth gives me the heebie-jeebies:eek:. I'm the sort of person who needs to be dragged kicking and screaming to see a 'real' dentist:o. Is it the students who treat you under supervision or the dentists themselves doing demos? I'm happy with trainee hairdressers but trainee dentists........????? Forget it, even though it's free :eek:
It is student dentists but I have been told they are better than then dentist as take more care, are more gentle, more thorough and concerned they are doing everything right. They are completely overseen by qualified dentists who stand near to to them. So no chance of anything going wrong.
My friend doesn't like dentist but desperately needed teeth seen to. She says she feels positive going to the denistry school. They are treating her so gently.0 -

That's very reassuring. Thanks, Aesop:T
Still no use to me though, I think the nearest Dentistry School will be about 60 miles away:(. Unless I risk the Agricultural College which is much nearer:rotfl:0 -
I spotted something in a post that really interested me but can't remember whether it was on this thread or not:o. It wasn't a moneymaking tip or anything, just something mentioned in passing, and I've trawled through dozens of posts and can't find it anywhere. I don't think it was posted by one of our 'regulars' though.
It was just a mention of a 101 challenges in 1001 days type of thing, like a mini bucket list but with easy to achieve targets. I'd like to find out more and will PM whoever posted it if I can find out who it was.
There is such a challenge on the MSE challenges list but it only had about 3 posts. The last was by our own shellyosborne but it was from 2016 and I'm sure I read the post I'm looking for within the past couple of months. I see shelly hasn't posted here since June so I doubt it was her.
Sorry to be a pain but if anyone knows what the heck I'm on about (or if it was you) please put me out of my misery:T0 -

That could be an interesting experience. Am sure they study along similar lines :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Sorry, folks:o
Ignore the drivel in my previous post, I've just found what I was looking for on another thread I visit regularly. At least my ramblings have added to the post count so I won't delete it;)
Incidentally, the poster of the item that I was searching for isn't one of 'ours' after all.0 -

Thanks for the link, Aesop:T. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put in to help us:A
No. it wasn't that one. It wasn't just a money making or saving challenge, it was more like a bucket list of small goals that can all be achieved within 1001 days. Just general personal goals and lifestyle things
The OP just mentioned it in passing on a saving an emergency fund challenge that I'm on but didn't post again. I've just PM'd him/her for details of where I can find out more. I think something like this has been posted on the internet but has nothing whatsoever to do with MSE. Probably American. Most of these things seem to start over there.
Enjoy the cinema:beer:. Teeming with rain here, has been since midnight:(. Just the day for the cinema:j0 -
Hi Everyone!
I've had a pretty good day so far considering it's just lunchtime! Two sales on eBay, paid and ready to post (£8). I've also had to contact eBay about a buyer who hasn't paid yet. It's only £4 but a bit annoying! Couple more auctions finishing later today and I've looked out more to list but I think I'll wait til the weekend. I also contacted quidco about £40 cash back from new mobile contracts that had been outstanding since February and they've paid the money into my account today! It's earmarked for toy shop vouchers to help with xmas. £1.50 voucher through post from Tesco and 90p from Qmee takes my total up to £71.08!0 -
Crikey, I'm getting a bit obsessive about this aren't I?:o:eek:
Not heard back from the person I PMd but I found this after a quick internet search:
https://dayzeroproject.com/about/
Looks like this was the original on which later versions were based. Haven't had the time for a read of much of it but I can tell you now that as far as I'm concerned all the daredevil challenges are OUT. No bungee jumping for me:eek:. Looks like a lot of it is for young people. My list will be very tame by comparison, that's if I can motivate myself to go for it and can find the time to draw up a list of 101 things that are remotely possible to achieve in 2.75 years in my restricted little world:rotfl:0
