@Alchemilla @EssexHebridean cats, gardening, reading, cooking and a big clue in the user name and thread title. I was mostly on old style anyway but my mother and siblings all knew my user name and I didn't want anyone worrying about the debt or to feel that I couldn't post stuff at the time.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

@redofromstart understood. I'm on my third ID, but using the second which the long-suffering forum team resurrected for me.
Imagine my frustration over Christmas not being able to say hi.

Multi quote - you first hit the “quote” button on the first post you want to quote…Alchemilla said:@redofromstart understood. I'm on my third ID, but using the second which the long-suffering forum team resurrected for me.

Freezing fog here and a snotty cold. The wood burner is on, as is the central heating plus I have thermals, jumper, cardigan, dressing gown and fingerless gloves on. Clearly I need more jumpers!
Mid month financials are looking surprisingly good, just broken into December disposable pay (show off!) and as long as Mr Redo doesn't discover another essential tool then we should be able to actually add to the savings for the first time in months.
I soaked some broth mix this morning so I need to cobble it into soup of some sort later. It is the right weather for it though. I got some very reduced bits last night so there is some cooked chicken to add to it, and bread/GF bread for croutons or dipping. Quite rare to see a good reduction on GF bread, and whilst I am not a huge fan it is good to have some sliced and frozen for when the mood strikes.
Read with interest the discussions on annual payments rather than extra for monthly (on the diary of @WinterWarrior). I already pay Azn annually, Mr Redo likes immediate gratification for purchases, we both use the videos and I use prime reading and the kindle unlimited offers so we get our monies worth. All insurances (home, both cars, motorcycles) are paid annually, and the car taxes. Cunningly they fall due in Feb/March so no council tax is cancelled out. I think I can honestly say that nearly all of my 'monthly' DDs are core things - utilities, mortgage, CT, TV licence (under debate here at the moment). Optional would be the basic life assurance cover which ends this summer as the youngest turns 18, and the £4 a month for MrT midweek delivery saver which I have no intention of cancelling as long as I continue to work full time.
I have a tub of fresh custard (yuck) and one of double cream (yum) - waiting for inspiration to strike. Chocolate roulade? Planned but not made for Christmas so I have cheap dark chocolate. Easy enough to make it low or no gluten for me. Some sort of sponge pudding (yuck - hot cake, so I don't care about the gluten) and then use the cream with some stilton and potatoes tomorrow. Meringue roulade but dull without fruit sauce. Tart au citron and stomach ache?My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
