Funnily enough moving_forward the eldest just re-appeared for thirds. I like it, well worth the money on a silly offer. I was rubbish at the planning involved in slow cooker, and hated leaving anything electric on in our shoddily wired house when I was at work. The instant pot is great for 'whoops I forgot' stuff which suits me.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I really must remember to log on to my current work pension. And also bite the bullet to sit down and consolidate a. what's in H&L and Aviva and b. consolidate the funds within them. I have FAR too many, but as they're all performing well it's hard to decide what to drop. However, i'm aware that it is probably costing me in management fees.4

Wow well done to Mr Redo on taking early retirement. What are the boys doing now they've finished education? (Sorry I too have missed a few pages). It's all change in your household.

Tonight I made a chicken/sweetcorn and fridge scraping soup in the instant pot. It merited seconds from the critical audience.
Strong stock, chopped up 'stuff' and a sprinkle of herbs/sweetcorn and ten minutes of high pressure/slow release. A few ladles into the blender, whizz and back in, repeat till you get to your preferred thickness.4 -

Great results from 2021 Redo - and some good plans in place for 2022 as well - I particularly like the one to move the renovation project forward at least a bit each month - I think we may need to adopt that one over here. Much as getting into another "project" scares me, I will much prefer it once it is done - so time to start some proper thinking/planning I reckon...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Done! I have read this whole thread from beginning to here .... do I get a prize??
Learned many, many things and have a list of actions as long as my arm of things to follow up on. I love your ingenious approach to food and using leftovers etc. I have copied quite a few bits and pieces down onto a blank Word doc for trialling.
I also love your cats and how you write of them and am intrigued by how much you might use a microwave - I counted 3 in this thread alone, (it started with one on the patio ....) I think ....?
Keep on keeping on and I am looking forward to reading your gardening related posts as the season progresses.

@KajiKita thank you very much - that made me glad I kept a diary. Yes many microwaves. I think it might be 5 now. Daily use by a boy - one for soup, the other for popcorn, and before mr Redo retired his soup was heated for his flask too. We did eventually realise that the problem is 'mrs brady old lady' cat who sleeps on top and sheds a lot of fur so the air vents get blocked. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
