Last night we had some rather lovely oven roasted asparagus, drizzled with oil and with a little grated Parmesan style hard cheese. Nice thick stems so tried ten minutes at 200, still some bite to them which is much nicer than soggy over cooked. I also oven roasted some huge flat mushrooms at same time and they were lovely, have another pack of those to think of something to do with tonight. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks HHOD, definitely one to do again.
Not tonight though, OH is away and I've pottered outside and done too much. Really bored of being ill, three months now since the first infection.
I'm going to lie on the sofa, read trash and eat junk.
DS1 has just tidied his room without being asked. Has the end of the world been announced without me noticing? My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I think DS1's tidying is probably displacement activity. Should he be revising for exams or doing homework?
I've done some weeding and feeding outside, washed the kitchen floor and washed and dried a couple of loads of laundry and am giving up despite the ironing lurking reproachfully in the corner. I got dehydrated yesterday and as a result have a headache I can't shift.
Hope you start to recover soon, but it might take some actual rest, rather than carrying on despite being so unwell.0 -
Lying on the sofa, reading trash and eating junk sounds like just what you need right now Redo. Hope you feel better soon. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hope you're feeling a lot better redo. Lovely day here at my end at the moment - I hope all is the same at yours and you're out enjoying your garden and pottering around.

Thanks for dropping by greenbee, SSG and HHOD - appreciated.
Pottering and doing short bursts of stuff is the plan of action here. I had a rare day off and spent it sorting the boys rooms while they were at school. Looks tons better in there and they were suitably grateful.
The former stray really likes the smell of bleach spray, the biggest challenge is stopping her from licking the newly cleaned walls. Strange cat :cool:My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Bagthorpes! I loved those books. Remember when Dad took all the labels off the tins to see if he'd won competitions, and they ate mystery foods for weeks after?! William, Rosie, Jack, Mrs Fosdyke (I think)... And the older kids all had many Strings to their Bows, but Jack had few...
Sorry to barge in. I DID love those books, and your diary is making me laughalot, espec the cat bits...0 -
My cat loves the smell of bleach too. She rolls around the floor when she gets a whiff
Hopefully you're feeling better now?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hi Elissa, I do remember the tins but everyone else looks blankly at me so I'm glad someone else remembers. Not barging in, more than welcome.
SA, no but thanks for asking. I figure if I'm bored of me whining about it then everyone else is too. Scan and consultant visits are imminent, but I suspect no answers again. No physical reason for the pain, probably Stress, or related to the fibro seem to be the default answer. My local NHS trust seem to be excellent at cancer risk ( and quite rightly so) but less than helpful or fast with chronic issues.
Snotty colds for OH and DS1. I'm trying not to breathe or touch anything.
Freezer junk for dinner. Lots of nice fruit bought in Aldee, a good super 6 for my tastes. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
