That made me laugh Rosa, especially as said 'intelligent' car has just been delivered back here by garage. Driver left it parked outside so he could get the courtesy car off the drive. Could I get the blasted thing to start? No idea what I am doing wrong but ended up having to get out, kick tyre, curse it, and get back in and try again - all with an amused audience. I much prefer my nice simple car with no 'helpful' technology that actually turns on when I press the key.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I will be avoiding high tech cars for as long as possible - how is it supposed to save so much effort, like taking the key from a bag is the hard part of driving?Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

Finally caught up with your diary redo.
The butcher block trolley sounds a very useful idea.
Loved the cat stories too. DD's ginger Madam was bought a very luxurious bed but still prefers a box. I think she sits in there feeling very smug that she can't be seen, but unfortunately doesn't realise that her ears stick out over the top.........:rotfl:
I liked Rosa's post. It seems that "intelligent" cars are quite likely to take the place of unruly teenagers!:rotfl:
Have a good weekend redo.

I always find this an entertaining viewpoint on autonomous cars...

I would be very suspicious of a car that is too high tech. I don't like not being able to open doors and windows in trains as it makes me feel trapped  and I'm not a fan of electric windows in car that only open when the engine is on . Sometimes low tech is better I believe. Although I'm not a luddite because I love the internet and my mobile phone.
I hope you have a relaxing weekend with lots of gardening and cat bonding.

I'm quite looking forward to automatic cars so when I am old and doddery and they want to withdraw my licence I can just have an automatic car instead :rotfl:If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Well from that point of view driverless cars would suit me as I can't drive

Driving is an evil necessity for me, hate it.
Dinner was pot roast beef and many vegetables. Had some RTC courgettes, which I peeled and then cut into 4 long slices. Oil on both sides, seasoned, garlic and some mixed herbs. Half an hour in the oven, nice side dish. One to make again.
Also had some gifted rhubarb, no flour so I just sliced it into inch cubes, splash of orange juice, good sprinkle of sugar and then shoved it in the oven until it was soft, then mashed it up. OH had some with value custard but I liked it just as it was.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
