Have been mia for a few days - busy, meaning tired and also have a slight lurgy - also meaning tired :)

Couple of food shops done, a long morning at work for A/ AS results (I had to get up at 6 to an alarm in the holidays - urgh! :D), a long shopping morning in town (got all school shoes, some more uniform bits for DS2 and some casual shoes for DS1) and spent yesterday at DD's new flat/ in Cardiff - took some stuff over there and OH spent ages in the garden sorting out the jungle - I joined him after sorting out some bits inside. He and DS2 went to Dr Who place in Cardiff Bay and DD, myself and DS3 went to the museum, the park - and then back to hers to watch Moana with a bag of maltesers between us and a much needed cuppa for me :) WHilst we were out DS1 hung out the washing, emptied the dw, baked the loaf I left proving, cleaned his bathroom and vacuumed - before going out with friends - I don't think I get him to do that much in several days normally! :D

The end of the hols is fast approaching - feels like it's rushing towards us now - and I still feel like there's so much to do. Normally I am way more organised than this - not sure why this year feels so chaotic.

Day at home yesterday so managed a NSD. The total is looking a bit better now but I don't think I'll manage my 15.
Made chicken curry for dinner tonight using chicken from freezer. Despite using up lots this month I still don't see too many gaps appearing!
No produce here to be used and afternoon tea still isn't looking likely.
Oh well. Have a good Sunday.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Morning all :coffee:
Yesterday's gratitudes: getting the last of the exam marking finished :j, quality time on my own while dd was out and the boys were at football and catching up with bestie for an hour in the morning.
I spent pretty much all of yesterday marking as I'd had the week off on holiday but it is all done. Just 8 little reports left to write and upload and I'm done for the summer. Didn't get a lot else done. Today is a little more busy as I'm off to visit my mam later and then going out with bestie tonight.
Fmess - glad that you're feeling a bit better.
EE - you know how I feel about gardening and home grown so I'm going to make the effort in the afternoon tea style at some point over the next week.
  • Yesterday was spendy as we did food shopping. Spent about £70 - still under budget for food shopping which is good. We also got a few treats in as well - some 'posh' burgers/cheese melts from Aldi for a last BBQ of the year before it goes away.

Today will be spend free - we're off cake testing today but that has already been paid for and sorted, then a trip to grandparents in the evening. Really hoping I'll be on NSD 8 by tonight and then I must grab some more NSD during the week otherwise I will not make it!

Found out today that someone who was down to go out on my hen-do has double booked so I'm trying to get my deposit back as I had paid that up front. Hopefully she'll send it over as soon as possible - I'm trying to get people to send the rest of the money over and at the moment it's like drawing blood from a stone! I wish I hadn't paid their deposits now in case I'm let down again!

    Gratitudes
    1) cake testing - looking forward to this
    2) sunshine trying to peak through the clouds
    3) dog faces tablets starting to kick in again.

Fmess ignore them. Dating is hard to do. Easy for friends to say get on with it. Have they tried dating sites ??
Hugs you need to feel really positive to even look. Given up at the moment until I get fighting fit no way can I cope with nutters on there.

Having the worst weekend ever, went walk yesterday steep steps, stupid me, knee was already painful and went to get back in car and my knee locked. The pain to bend it to get into car was immense. So whole afternoon with it iced up and resting on couch. Followed by warm bath and more rest.

Today still swollen too scared to go anywhere in case it locks again. Still painful, bored silly with tv. Shed a few tears today with frustration.

Really hate being in house all day, need milk so try drive to shops later - and maybe get some chocolate to cheer myself up. Fmess give you a piece if you lived closer.

    Spent yesterday £26 Lidl.

    Grateful for
Getting food shopping done before knee problem set in
    Dry weather

  • Afternoon everyone,

Popping in with a wee update before I head over to my mums, where I hope I will be suitably fed :)
    • Allocate – spends for the month are now up to £207.06/£280.
    • Use (up) – used my cinema pass today to go see The Dark Tower. Thought the film was ok but it could’ve been better.
    • Spends – I’ve only had 1 NSD this week which takes me up to 9 to date.
    • Time (for yourself) – I finished reading the latest Karin Slaughter book the other day and have started a new Jane Green book. Mum took the little one last night so I lay on the couch and watched the second part of The Hunger Games which was on telly. As mentioned I’ve also squeezed in a trip to the cinema today to see a newer movie.
    • Take lunch to work 13 out of the 14 days I’ll be there – took lunch to work the three days I was there this week taking me up to 8/13.
    • De-clutter a minimum of 31 items from my flat (one a day shouldn’t be too hard right?!) – finally made a start on this today and have got rid 12 pairs of the little one’s socks, 1 pair of tights, 3 pairs of shoes and a packet of nappies (17/31).

Today I am grateful for free fruit, for enjoying the garden, for the planes from the nearby airshow flying over our house (several times!), for being packed for tomorrow's journey to visit my sister, for a good chat with a friend at church, for 85% chocolate.

Lost a long post. Lots has been done today, still lots to do but going to try and sleep now and make an early start tomorrow - need to shuffle some furniture.

Today I am grateful for feeling good when I woke up, for the wardrobe making me smile every time I look in it (most of my clothes are in and there is still some space), for finding a portion of bacon soup in the freezer, for new shelf under the stairs.

Thank you calling, I'd go and get your milk for you if we lived near each other. Hope your knee is better today, and you manage to get out the house and away from the TV. Some parts of the country are supposed to be rather warm today so I hope that's you and maybe you can sit in the garden with your leg up?

    Morning all,

Not a SFD yesterday as I needed another dog bed and got my car washed for the first time in months.

    I was grateful for:-

    - my temporary gym pass and a lovely swim in the outdoor pool
    - good weather to dry my washing
    - a long dog walk and chat with a friend
    - my parents cooking me dinner and playing with the dogs
    - the builder having sorted all the prep for my bathroom
    - the very professional car wash people
    - my home
