Still waiting on searches... they should be in any day now I hope! The valuation was done a few weeks ago but we've not seen it. I've just asked the solicitor about that, but what might there be to concern us provided the price is agreed (it's a new build and nothing has been said so that doesn't worry me)? Am getting to the stage where I'm worried there are things we need to do but don't know what they are. Can't say I 100% trust the solicitor to tell us in good time.
  • Had some fun with searches today, we are buying them from previous purchaser that fell through.  They have paid more for them than our solicitor quoted, so we went back and offered what we had been quoted.... yeah they aren't having that lol

Understandably they are a little upset at us taking over the purchase and want full price, was worth a try (decided to pay the extra).

We’ll still no response from any solicitor. I’m over it now. I’m not chasing anymore, not planning anymore. If it goes past this week I’ll just pay the solicitors and pull out cause I cannot cope with the stress it’s causing me.
I said exactly that a few weeks back, and just had a total break from checking emails - and turned my phone off.  It was all getting to be a bit much.  A few days break though, and felt much better.  I also just took a random day off from work and went out on my bike to clear my head.  It's the most stressful thing ever - maybe you just need to spend a few days doing you stuff and forgetting about all the stressy move stuff?
Potentially but I get nagged by the buyer every day too. Literally 8am everyday she starts with the texts so it’s hard to switch off
  • Congratulations to those who exchanged and completed yesterday, saw the thread updated to "30 new", but didn't have the time to read carefully through all of the responses.
Two and a half weeks since our original agreed exchange date and.... still nothing.... getting really stressed out and frustrated!
Oh no, that's painful! What's holding it up? I hope it resolves soon.
Our buyers lender has asked for something from the freeholder of our flat, the freeholder is not around... close to 3 weeks now...
    no end in sight :(

Annoying thing is about their solicitor/lender is they didn't raise this till 2 days before our first agreed exchange date 12th March.
Now everyone in the chain is feeling the stress and pressure, the EA has been on the phone daily, with all of us in the chain!  We have been emailing our solicitor daily!
Our sellers are getting annoyed, we are getting frustrated, the buyer is ... well... not as fussed as they are not moving in after they buy.

I hear you. Beyond frustrated here too. Our solicitor is now ignoring my calls despite the need for her to get a COT to the lenders to release funds by 5pm today. Left her 2 messages via the receptionist and apparently she'll 'get back to me tomorrow'  :s
EA on the phone to us 2-3 times a day this week. Supposed to have exchanged y'day, then today, now maybe tomorrow, with completion on Monday (haha what a joke if we still haven't exchanged). Removals companies on the email several times a day too chasing us changing a pencilled in booking to an ink one.
Took this week of leave and have barely left the house. I'm going for a walk tomorrow regardless, I've had enough.

Jeez, was similar here.. a weeks notice for exchange last Friday, and then nothing, then it was Monday, then finally that happened on Tuesday after I was a real pain.  Cautiously hoping completion goes a lot more smoothly.  Keep at it, you'll get there...
  • Thanks crumblylancashire, I flamin hope so.
I'm having a gin and tonic (I rarely drink) as I need to unwind :(
