Got my removals in place finally, costing £2100 for packing us up on Sunday and moving us 3-4 miles up the road on Monday 29th March (assuming it all goes ahead). One quote came in for the same exact things at £5400, so it proves it pays to get multiple quotes. Spoke to solicitor to say can we exchange now the removals are sorted, but she's still waiting for redemption paperwork for current mortgage and confirmation from our lender that they can release the mortgage funds, which she's hoping will arrive Friday in anticipation of completing Monday. She's hoping for exchange tomorrow/Thursday now.0

I feel like a lot of people kind of ... want to find issues with their property so they can use it to negotiate price, I am just sat hoping it comes back okay as I love this house and I think we paid a fair price for it! If something major is wrong with it we would consider negotiating but... I really don’t want to!0 -

I thought the same as you though, but I think if you love the house, you'll put up with most things unless it's falling down around your earsAs long as it’s not literally secretly a damp ridden cave I think we would go ahead regardless.Houses in our area are snapped up so quickly that it would break my heart to walk away from this one! (I know I shouldn’t get attached but it’s so cute & I have been stalking it on rightmove ever since it was first listed so I can’t help myself!)1

The survey did come back suggesting it needed a new roof and I nearly died but every roofer that came out said it was bull 😂

Does your solicitor send you a financial breakdown of payments expected prior to exchange? Ours is saying she'll do that as soon as the redemption statement comes through to her, plus confirmation of mortgage funds release. I did check with her we don't have to put any further deposit down on exchange (all funds tied up in the sale)0

Cooking with gas here!Report has been returned to us already!Only “3”s were gas & electric which since reading these forums I know is more of a “we don’t know so we will err on the side of caution” thing (we have seen the electricity certificates and gas certificates already!) and also that they don’t have any carbon monoxide alarms- quick google shows me they're about £11 online so no issue there!1
