The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

Josephgousto said:@Caz_Mnaz we have two related sales, one being my house where we currently live and the other being my partner´s property which is a buy-to-let. We are planning to go ahead with the sale of the buy-to-let still, and will unfortunately have to tell my buyer (a FTB) about the news.
popped it through their door and a couple of days later they text to say that they did still want to move but it wasn’t the right time and didn’t want to waste our time but maybe in a couple of months would go back on the market..
so we replied and said we would wait as we were in rented and 6 weeks later they were back in a better head space and asked if we still wanted to proceed. 10 weeks after that we got the keys to our now house (which we are now selling)
so all I will say is, don’t give up on things yet and maybe drop a note round, because you don’t have anything to lose and much more to gain. Hope it all works out for you3 -

We had an unexpected but positive update today. Our sellers have suggested 1st April for completion. We are still waiting on some outstanding paperwork, but this seems like a step in the right direction and at least something to be working towards. I'm not sure what happened to the upper chain who wanted 4 weeks between exchange and completion though *shrugs*2

Have had confirmation our homebuyers survey has taken place! It says we should get the report by the 30th but fingers crossed for sooner (I am impatient!)
I feel like a lot of people kind of ... want to find issues with their property so they can use it to negotiate price, I am just sat hoping it comes back okay as I love this house and I think we paid a fair price for it! If something major is wrong with it we would consider negotiating but... I really don’t want to!1 -

I have a question though. Should my conveyancer have sent over the draft contract pack? I know they have had it since the 9th, I'm just not sure if I should chase for it or wait until the searches are done. I have not been massively impressed with them so far, they have never answered an email and the only info I have had has been when I call them - this has been off the back of requests they have sent me btw, not me harrassing them.1
