I don't t think you cancel your mortgage payment until completion do you? I'm porting mine so I don't need to do anything.
I'm really laid back in nature but really fed up and impatient this week. Was meant to be in early Feb, then I wanted to be in by Easter.... Also not going to happen. Sigh.1 -
Still waiting for an exchange date :-(. Originally due to exchange and complete on 18th and 19th March but Santander requested more documents before we could proceed.
This is all done and confirmed now but once again now waiting on solicitor to send the contract and provide an exchange and complete date.
I hope to hear today - fingers crossed.2 -
So deflated here! We knew this would happen, imagine if the stamp duty holiday wasn’t extended, we would have to find an extra £15k for stamp duty, our exchange was set for the 12th March and now still not happened and still waiting for one final enquiry for our buyer, ourselves and our sellers are ready and packed, this is getting so frustrating!!Was emailed by the solicitors yesterday and we are probably now looking into early April 😓1

Our survey happened yesterday so now I'm on the nervous wait for the report 😬
Been told to expect it within 72h which seems very prompt!
Fingers crossed it will all be fine and we can ask the solicitors to start the searches before the end of the week.
FTB ignorance here, I notice a lot of you have talked about raising enquiries with your vendors, just wondering what sort of things these are/relate to? I'm assuming it will become clearer once we enter the solicitors bits but don't want to not ask something we should be doing!0 -

I'm assuming it will become clearer once we enter the solicitors bits but don't want to not ask something we should be doing!For queries, as a FTB too I was baffled to begin with, but basically your solicitor will read the pack of information they are given by the sellers and will look for anything they might want to question or clarify.My solicitors raised 13 queries! But most were along the lines of;
“you have indicated that the boiler has been serviced recently, please provide us with the compliance certificate”
and
“please confirm the items indicated in the fixtures and fittings list are included in the sale price”
Depending on what information the vendors provide up front & depending on the individual property there seems like there could be anywhere between... zero and a hundred queries easily! As I understand it, there may be “back and forth” with the queries, if the answer to one of them brings up another question.If you had anything specific you were wanting to check there would be no harm in mentioning it to the solicitors when you get to that point, as I’m sure they would be able to either answer it from the information they have, or draft it up into a query for you! I haven’t raised any of my own queries as I had nothing that I felt I needed to add.0 -

We don’t even have plates to eat cake off since they’ve been packed almost a month haha!Our solicitor emailed to say he’s chasing Accord mortgages today to see if their audit is satisfactory so we can bloody move!! Here’s hoping we get some news0

Another day waiting for us too! Solicitor emailed yesterday to say he was checking if Accord could now release funds following the stupid survey they sent. We should have moved on the 8th, I'm tired of it now. I'm tired of boxes. Im tired of emailing and ringing for updates. Really hope something comes through today, even if its just a date we can work towards!! I'm so thankful stamp duty was extended because we'd have had to pull out otherwise at this rate. We are almost 8 months into it now - never expected it to take this long at all.3
