this so why I’m putting everything in my name. Nothing like a money forum to scare you away from commitment. God luck I hope it works out and your ex falls into a muddy puddle.
Thank you. The faster our house is sold and I don't have to put up with this, the better. I'm buying with my now partner, but we're getting a deed of trust to avoid situations like this in the future - not that I expect him to behave like my ex, he's completely different, but better to be safe than sorry!
Property buying/selling timeline - currently into week 21
04/12/20: Both properties listed for sale
11/01/21: Offers accepted on both sales & on our joint purchase
25/01/21: Identity checks completed, solicitors instructed
27/01/21: Purchase survey & valuation complete, mortgage offer received
05/02/21: Reduction agreed on partner's sale (under-valuation) & on purchase. Mortgage offer amended
08/02/21: Buyers pack returned to solicitor - sellers packs already returned
    26/02/21: Partner's sale contract signed
    10/03/21: Purchase searches all back
    16/03/21: My sale contract signed
28/03/21: Purchase enquiries satisfied, Title Report & contracts issued, contracts signed & returned
11/05/21: Still waiting on final enquiry in the adjoining chain to be resolved. Consent to break the chain granted, instruction to move to exchange given.
17/05/21: All parties agreed to June 3rd for completion
27/05/21: Exchanged on my sale only
    28/05/21: ALL EXCHANGED!
    03/06/21: Completion
  • Enquiries were sent ages ago. Haven’t heard anything since. I’m hoping for a delay due to my rental but I hate not knowing. 😂
Hi @hippocrates1, still remember you from the awaiting mortgage offer thread  we have a similar timeline.
We are awaiting searches back still, and also response to enquiries for both sale & purchase. Hoping for some movement this week!
Have you had any indication regarding an exchange date?

Everything is back bar enquiries. I need to give two months notice on my rental. Period ends 7th of the month. So if I give notice now will be paying rent till start of June. Hoping for mid to end of May. I have a help to buy ISA etc though that I can use to slow things down. What about you?

Definitely the right thing to do. We all get hurt and petty sometimes we don’t know how we will act when we feel wronged. My bf will move in eventually but I’m going to make him sign away any financial rights. He has his own properties though so it’s not too unfair.

Morning all - hope everyone gets the news they're after this week!

We are just waiting for a phone call/email for completion. Going to get the van in an hour or so. We decided to do the removals ourselves as the removal men wanted £500+ to move a small 2 bed flat (with most contents going in the back of my car anyway!) 3 miles up the road. This will be our warm up for when the gyms reopen :D
Wooo good luck!! Same position as me  - just staring at my phone! We have two men with ven (lol) and they’ve been so blooming fast!

Good luck! :) I keep forgetting I have to unpack everything when I get there  :# I think I'll do it room by room though. Kitchen and bedroom first!

Very jealous! We are moving a 2 bed flat, but family of 3 and totally outgrown this flat with lots of bits and furniture.  Removers are asking for £1000+ insurances, but we can't even book them in yet as our exchange has been delayed due to our buyers and we still haven't heard anything 2 weeks later :(

No, we have had no indication at all, was hoping for May as well, but unsure how realistic that is at this rate...

It’s two months away. Why do you not think it’s realistic?
