.... I had to do that with my friend across the street. Of course I was dead chuffed for her but it was through slightly gritted teeth 😂5

Congrats on those who exchanged this week! How exciting.
Nothing happening for us unfortunately
the only update I got from my solicitor was this:
We await replies to enquiries on your sale and enquiries to be raised on your purchase.2 -
Have just received 18+ queries on my house sale!
Some totally ridiculous ones 'Please confirm you will sign the contract' Errrr yes, I'm the one who put it up for sale in the first place, of course I will sign the contract.
'Please provide a building regs certificate for the removal of the load bearing wall in the living room' It's an ex-council house and every house in the street is exactly the same, as in none of them ever had a load bearing wall in the living room!
'Please provide a copy of your water bill' Now that one has completely stumped me as further up the ridiculous enquiries list they state that searches have revealed it is supplied by Severn Trent water. Are they just being nosey as to what they will be paying in water rates?
Honestly they all seem so ridiculous. On my purchase my solicitor raised one query and that was asking for building regs for the extension.

My solicitor asked my vendor for water and utility bills plus copy of the house insurance.... I was like erm OK let's not !!!!!! them off please 😂🤷♀️0
-
It's odd right?! Why would they need to see those things?
Another query was if I knew about planned developments on neighbouring properties - my response was "That will be answered by the local land search" Honestly really not sure what this solicitor is doing!0 -

We had must’ve had over 100 enquiries from our buyers, seriously no joke and still ongoing and we hope it’s the last one! (As we were supposed to exchange 12th March).
The best one they sent was “Can we decorate the flat?” 🤔 let me think about that one?

We watched our neighbour move out this week (and good riddance) - just a little envious of them going before us when we sold first!
We are in a smallish chain (FTB > us > our vendor > their purchase and end of chain), and waiting on just one piece of paper - land registry to amend the vendor's purchase's deeds (the owner bought an additional garage off a developer or something). Apparently, it's been expedited but we've already been waiting a couple of weeks. Keep hearing 'should get some news next week and then you can exchange'. I live in fear it's all going to fall apart and I'm too scared to pack.1
