    So it turns out (and I don't blame him!) our seller has now added his onward purchase onto our chain, making it 6 properties. Though ironically they are almost ready to exchange, so the bottom of the chain are still holding the rest of us up! I wanted to go before Easter but that is now not going to happen. We went on the market in August......I just want to be in my new home!

    That's so annoying. Still, at least he's in a good position with it, it would be worse if he were only just starting with his purchase!
    I feel for you, I'm in a double chain of 3, so essentially 6 parties to align and exchange/complete together, and it feels like it will never happen. Hope things proceed quickly for you.

    Thanks! Agree, if he'd just decided to proceed with a property from scratch I would actually break the chain. He's already asked if anyone is in a position to do so, but as it's literally the bottom two properties holding us all up that's not really an option as we need the cash to flow upwards!

    I just feel like we're getting somewhere, then it grinds to a halt again. Keep trying to forget that if the chain hadn't collapsed we would have been completing on 16th Feb, that seems like an age ago already!

    I share your fears about getting everyone to agree date...I'm going to struggle with leave but told my boss I can work from my mobile as people are loading up the van :D

    Caz_Mnaz - if we'd have completed before March 31st I'd have been doing the same as I have no annual leave left - I used my last few days moving out of my rented flat and putting everything into storage a few weeks ago. However, contrary to earlier indications there is absolutely zero chance of that happening. Not sure April is looking good either at this rate!

  • Well, supposed to be exchanging today and completing next Friday; but having heard absolutely nothing from my last few emails to the solicitor, and with the vendor not seeming to know anything about exchange (despite these dates coming from their solicitor a week ago)... i'm not hopeful.  The solicitors have my deposit, the house insurance on the purchase started today, we're surrounded by packed boxes and we have 14 days before our tenancy expires.  Sort of losing the will now, started on this journey last September and had nothing but problems, delays, and lack of information.  Trying to be positive, but admittedly, failing.

    eurgh @crumblylancashire I really feel for you. The not knowing is the worst....I'd prefer at least a 'it definitely won't be until end of April' over just being told 'not yet, not yet' etc. Fingers crossed you'll hear something today even if it's just confirming exchange for Monday

    Yes, exactly!! I hate the not knowing, regardless of what the date is, it gives something to aim for... it's driving me round the flaming bend.  Will just try to keep busy and not stress over the weekend :)

    @crumblylancashire any update on yours?
    Not yet.... the solicitors have my deposit money, so my account looks pretty sad... really hoping for exchange tomorrow, but I guess will just have to wait and see if it actually happens or not.  Debating sending the solicitor an email, but don't want to hassle her.  Do you have any progress?
    Nothing for me since the questionnaire got sent back. Hoping the solicitor might give us an update tomorrow but I’ve not contacted them to be honest as there’s nothing to be done until accord give the go ahead
    @Becksina I've been told that Accord have released the funds, no mention of any additional paperwork.
  • So emailed my solicitor again who stated they have still received nothing from vendors solicitor. Emailed EA hoping they will chase them. Would just love to know things are moving in right direction. My friend who is about 3 weeks behind me has got fixtures and fittings yesterday so I'm feeling like nothing is happening on my purchase.

    Another one for the 'feeling like nothing is happening' brigade. Waiting for the Land Registry to confirm some shading colours on our title document (yes, really). It's been over a week now and I'm sure they're incredibly busy
