We are in a smallish chain (FTB > us > our vendor > their purchase and end of chain), and waiting on just one piece of paper - land registry to amend the vendor's purchase's deeds (the owner bought an additional garage off a developer or something). Apparently, it's been expedited but we've already been waiting a couple of weeks. Keep hearing 'should get some news next week and then you can exchange'. I live in fear it's all going to fall apart and I'm too scared to pack.

We were waiting for 'one last enquiry' on Thursday/Friday last week, which I managed to get myself and send to solicitors. Within 2 hours of sending it our buyer suggested exchange this coming week and completion the week after next (29th!) I hadn't even had removals quotes. Now pending definite confirmation and will have to go with whichever removals company will be able to fit us in on the date, and will have them packing for us too. I'm still terrified it'll fall through at the last minute, haven't spoken to BT/SKY etc on notified anyone until we hear a date for certain. I suppose what I'm saying is, expect things to move rapidly once that piece of paper is back. We have the same chain as you but are one up in the chain (FTB, our buyer, us, our vendor- vacant possession)

I dreamt we completed on April 12th (a Monday... So fairly unlikely!) looking forward to seeing just how far out I am 😂

Congratulations to everyone who had exchanged or completed this week. Fingers crossed for this week for everyone who should have been over the last few days but were delayed. 

We’re in a bit of limbo. We’ve had the survey done, searches back, information pack received, contracts signed and sent back, and enquiries seem to have been answered. We put forward one enquiry (only our second) on Thursday so I think that will delay things a little, but hoping we will exchange soon. I think we are waiting for probate to be granted (it’s an estate sale and empty). We’re in rented so no chain, but our contract is up next month and we’re being asked about our intentions. Trying to get a date pinned down.

I know the feeling... our rental is up at the end of this month, and still no exchange (should've been last Friday)... it's getting close, and also in total limbo.  Good luck!

Anyone else now waiting for dates to exchange and having nightmares?
I woke out of one in the middle of the night, sobbing. In the dream, our buyer had pulled out, hubby took the call and went upstairs (I was dealing with the kids). I went up to find out what was happening and he'd gone to bed, but had decided to take all the plaster off the walls of the room and the bricks were slowly dropping out of the wall to the exterior. That's when I woke.

Supposed to be completing tomorrow! However, we still haven’t exchanged and also still waiting for funds to be released!!

Lucieb94 that sounds like a nightmare! How long does the funds release take usually? That'll be one on the next things holding us up I expect..
