The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

Hoping and praying for lots of successful exchanges and completions tomorrow 🤞🤞2

Should have been due to complete and exchange today on a property we had our offer accepted on in August.
It seems like that's now been pulled off the cards because of poor communication from our solicitors on the logistics of the transaction.. How frustrating!
Some 'professionals' involved in the housing industry can really be quite careless. Of course we will have to sit tightly and wait for them to pull their finger out and agree another date now - the joys.1 -
@Cuddlybearman Congratulations! Been reading your frustration for a while, and to see it’s happened for you, I feel more positive now.
Our boiler was due a service in Feb, but a service being non-essential this was not done till yesterday, as now has become essential, as we need to keep the warranty for exchange.Emailed the solicitors the certificate, reply email told us to be ready to go into sign paperwork today (Friday) or early next week, to save postal delay!Hoping to exchange middle to end of week , fingers crossed2 -

I just hope that the house we still desperately wants decide to look for something else because if they don’t that chain is going nowhere!! We are viewing some houses this Saturday but even on paper not a match to what we want to buy.Doesn’t help that my youngest starts school in September and we were moving out of area! So we do need to find something soon so at least she has a school place! Just a complete nightmare!!!
Our onward chain is pretty straight forward, there’s just been 1 issue that took longer to resolve than anticipated and we have been sitting waiting to go since beginning of jan! When will you know about the vendors onward purchase? Keep an open mind about the new viewings, one of them might turn out to be perfect but it’s hard when you have your heart set on somewhere. I hope it all works out and you feel better about things by this time next week. Good luck with the viewingsWe don’t know about our vendor... the agent says they will look to find something else but they are not lying when nothing that they need/want for them and their elderly mother has come on in months... apart from the house they want... but that house wants the house on IOW that has no intention of ever moving 🤦🏻♀️😩 so it’s a complete static chain.... unless our vendor finds somewhere else. We have a good relationship with our vendors agent and they actually said go and look at other things as they know this chain is going nowhere. It’s so hard isn’t it?!!Is your chain above the same chain you broke the chain for? Ie you have been waiting a long time for them to sort themselves out?
Our onward purchase is small (us, our vendor and their vendor) and hasn’t changed since we had our offer accepted beginning of October, I think we have been lucky really bar the delay which was out of everyone’s hands really.@Cuddlybearman Congratulations 🥳 what a stressful few days but at least you can relax now and look forward to your new home 🍾🍾1 -
Congrats @Cuddlybearman!!!
One last little visit from me here before I migrate to the DIY board. I got my keys yesterday and all is well except the seller took all the lightbulbs...which were included in the fixtures and fittings form!!! Anyway that's a cautionary tale, make sure you take some spares.

I've been promised everything is resolved and exchange can actually happen today.. I think it'd be a miracle if it goes through
I'm just trying to guess what today's excuse will be
Solicitor has covid maybe? Or decided to take a long weekend?2
