Thanks everyone for your comments - anyone on here waiting - just keep going and dont give up. The drama that i have had for 5 months i was sure this would end in tears but i refused to let it beat me and it came off in the end.
BTW - all of you on this thread particularly - thanks for your support. I have to admit using this forum was like therapy - you all got me through it when i couldn't face it anymore.
I dont know what to do now - seems strange not having anyone to chase all day......7 -
ok well i think that i can now join the thread instead of just watching the drama unfold. the property i am selling we have got as far as second lot of enquiries have been answered.... property i am purchasing, searches arent even back. i think this property is about 8 weeks behind the sale and i have agreed to go into temp accomodation if necessary. was really hoping i wouldnt have to do this now the stamp duty holiday has been extended but i do think it will still be necessary.
question for you: when did you received your vendors fixtures and fittings forms to look at and do you also get to look at their ta6?0 -
Finally got confirmation from our sellers that the 22nd is fine for completion... fingers crossed (again) today for exchange!!!1

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me jumping on. FTBs, put in our first offer between Christmas and New Year - rejected. Second offer was also rejected. Third offer accepted a couple of days into the new year.Searches back, survey done, enquiries done (I believe), and draft contracts received this morning.
Looks like it’s all going ahead and just waiting to exchange and complete now.1 -

So we’ve been told that the request to get the funds from our lender has been sent to the part of the business that request them. That’s it. No info on how long that takes, if we are still going to complete next week or not, I’m so sick of feeling like I’ve worked hard to make 1 step forward and somehow still end up 2 steps back and clueless0

Do you think you'd have made this progress if you hadn't have been chasing them and sorting things out everyday? Like, do you think they'd have just kept leaving it until either someone pulled out or it finally got to exchange?0 -

Clients tend to think that their chasing does help progress. In reality, solicitors cannot proceed to exchange without all the legal work being completed. Constant chasing hampers progress on all the files being worked on. Not sure why clients think it helps to be honest.
One of the problems is that solicitors are so busy, they don't have time to provide updates every week, though it is obvious that it would go a long way towards reassuring clients that they haven't been forgotten.2 -
Think the last lot of enquiries have gone to our solicitors from our buyer's solicitors now. They've just had the LA searches back but not expecting anything major. Still aiming for the 23rd which seems to be getting closer all the time!0

ARGHHHH!!!!!
After about 3 weeks of no formal news, and builders/boiler engineers/plasterers turning up at the house, our First time buyer initially suggested (on Thursday 25th Feb) that we exchange on Friday 26th Feb and Complete TODAY.We suggested by return email that we couldn't possibly arrange a rental property, van etc and move out in a week, and suggested TODAY for exchange and any date between Mon 22nd and Friday 26th March for completion (still within SD deadline). we then set about viewing rental properties and have found somewhere vacant, done credit checks, arranged to sign contract on the 11th, (after anticipated exchange!) checked van availability etc.
Then, AWOL -NO communication - NONE! ZERO! I've been tearing my hair out!
Then this morning they have said they can't exchange today as their ISA funds haven't been released, and won't be until the 18th of March. This morning they now want another builder to come round and have offered no further Exchange or completion dates.
I'm so annoyed! first they expect us to move into rented accommodation at the drop of a hat, despite their ISA funds still not being available a week after THEIR suggested date! Then they cease communication for an entire week! now they are messing about again now the stamp duty deadline has been extended. ARGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
