  • Glad to say we have exchanged! Think we have had a very luck sale & purchase, 13 weeks in total and no real hiccups. Good luck everyone. Now to finish packing for completion tomorrow.
    Congrats  :)

Congratulations to all those who exchanged today.

We've had an update that we're delayed until w/c 22 March due to issues at bottom aaaargh.  Still no contracts to sign so we've spoken to agent today and started putting our foot down on it needing to be earlier.

    Can’t remember exact dates but:
End of July - house up for sale
Start of Sept - offer accepted from FTB
Mid Sept - offer on onward purchase
Two days later - vendors change mind and decide not to sell at all.
Start of Oct - offer on new house accepted, told their are tenants currently who will vacate before or just after Christmas, but 6 month notice is end of Feb. We decide to take the gamble and chain complete.
Lots happens between then and Christmas, mortgages sorted, enquiries raised and answered.
Jan - solicitor reports on purchase and sends contracts for signing. More enquiries from buyers. Tenants clearly not vacating before end of notice.
Start of Feb - buyers enquiries are all satisfied, we are all ready to go subject to tenants leaving. We were told they would leave mid feb, that’s been revised to end of feb now so thinking there may be an issue there.

We’ve decided we will sell regardless of the tenant situation as our buyers have been so patient,  so we’re preparing to go into temporary accommodation alongside hopefully purchasing our new house.
I’ll be hanging around here enjoying all your good news stories for a while!
We’ve exchanged!! It’s been a long wait but it’s finally happened. Our solicitor has been absolutely amazing throughout.
Now we can crazily pack and clean the rest of the house ready to complete on the 9th.
I have found, through painful experience, that the most important step a person can take is always the next one.

This feels like Groundhog Day. Chase the agents, they advise they are chasing the chain, nothing all day then a call now at 16:40pm to say “no more news but I will chase it again tomorrow at 9am” we still don’t have any dates to work to? Is this normal not talking any dates??
  • Finally some news!! EA emailed and said the entire chain is now ready to exchange and the top of the chain has removals booked already for completion on the 15th. A couple of minutes later our seller's solicitor emailed our solicitor to say they are all ready to exchange. He's going to start the process tomorrow morning.

    @Cuddlybearman @BountyBlink @parkingadvice1212  Hang in there, & good luck 🤞🏻
  • Still no news from my seller - so I pressed the nuclear button and emailed the MD of the estate agents.
And I'm about 10 mins away from getting in the car and knocking on the door of my seller
