Did no one tell your buyer that a deadline means nothing if you don't keep to it?Cuddlybearman said:So as of this morning everyone in the chain except my seller has agreed to exchange tomorrow and complete on the 12th. My solicitor and EA can't get hold of the seller or their solicitor to confirm this!! So close now I can smell it - hate waiting on other people!!
BTW - my buyer has said if we don't exchange tomorrow its off (although that threat um....5 ... now I think)

We are literally in pretty much the exact situation. Yesterday everyone had agreed to 11th March completion, couldn’t get hold of our sellers seller or their solicitor. Come 3pm everyone is ready to exchange.. then our sellers seller demands that our sellers pay half of an indemnity policy that was taken out a while ago.Cuddlybearman said:So as of this morning everyone in the chain except my seller has agreed to exchange tomorrow and complete on the 12th. BTW - my buyer has said if we don't exchange tomorrow its off (although that threat um....5 ... now I think)So today, we’re waiting... I’ve had enough! Our stuff is in storage and costs double for this next week, we have 3 young kids living with relatives for the last 3 months and I’m mentally drained!Really hoping you get some good news today and exchange! Fingers are crossed for you0 -
I am virtually in the same position as you (kids, storage, temp staying with family) & we’re waiting for exchange/completion dates to be confirmed this week - I feel your pain......& I’m never moving again!!!Diabhay15 said:We are literally in pretty much the exact situation. Yes feel that too. Put a load of my stuff in storage over the weekend. Good news is that my seller is the end of the chain. Although he still lives in the house his wife cleared him out (I think - she lives abroad now) so he literally lives there with a TV on the floor and sleeps in a kids bed - so he's got no excuse to not move out. I've done a almost a whole house in 48 hours on my own.
Until I get the confirmation I'll still feel uneasy - the seller just doesn't seem to have any urgency about him.
oh and @parkingadvice1212 - yes exactly! It's a crappy tactic that gets everyone wound up and stressed out and in reality doesn't really make anything go any faster than it probably would have anyway.1 -
We have our seller and their onward purchase and that’s the chain now - we are almost 22 weeks since offer was accepted!Cuddlybearman said:Yes feel that too. Today is the day we were meant to be moving, our seller proposed it to us and said he was ready to exchange 2 weeks ago, there's been no news since except "top of the chain not ready"

Nearly 22 weeks here too.. mortgage offer expires 31st March and there’s only the property we are buying, their purchase and then property at the top that is vacant. People in the chain that are buying a property for over £1m with cash are squabbling over a few hundred pounds for an indemnity policy. We’re here at the bottom of the chain, waiting.. waiting 😴Anty21 said:
