Long time lurker first time poster! Hoping I get something from the solicitor today, we had our offer accepted in October, endless problems along the way, mortgage company kept saying we had more debt that we declared (we didn’t) and after weeks of endless searching we discovered my brother in laws credit file was merged with my husbands! (They’re twins) so that caused a huge delay as we had to appeal, get that challenged and then wait a month for credit files to update. Luckily everything is done but we are waiting on local searches. They were requested in January and I feel like they’re never ever going to come in. Solicitor said we’d know by last Friday but it’s bee radio silence. I’m in a loop chain (my buyer is also my seller for the new home) and we have both been chasing to complete on the 8th for weeks but I feel it’s not going to be achieved. Arghhh so stressed with the waiting and the silence! Hope everyone is doing alright

My searches were requested today. Mortgage offer is in place. I’m a first time buyer. No chain. The property is vacated. Any bets on how long it will take?
We had our offer accepted on our first house 27th November, searches requested 18th December and back on the 12th February so by the time we've moved in it will be nearly 4 months and that's first time buyers with no chain as the house is also vacant!

That happened to me! I’m a twin. Thankfully my sister didn’t have anything that held up my mortgage offer.

Wow really?! Our broker had never come across it but said it does happen with twins! My brother in law had just got his first mortgage as we were applying so it looked like we had two mortgages!! Nightmare!

Were ready, just one issue at bottom of chain that is being resolved as we speak.  Everyone else is ready.

So I've just sent yet another where is the contract for us to sign type email to our solicitor.  I want her to be ready with all documents for when this issue at bottom is resolved!

No doubt itl be ignored like all other communications. Sigh.

Solicitor's vendor forgot to send them something important to do with their onward purchase; they reckon it'll be resolved by Wednesday. Hoping this is the last one.

We've been on the verge of exchanging for about three weeks now, finding it quite draining!

Well the removals company we wanted to use just got in touch to say they’re now fully booked for next week so even if we do get a miracle and complete when we all wanted to, we’ve now got to move ourselves. Yaaaaaay...
  • So as of this morning everyone in the chain except my seller has agreed to exchange tomorrow and complete on the 12th. My solicitor and EA can't get hold of the seller or their solicitor to confirm this!! So close now I can smell it - hate waiting on other people!!
BTW - my buyer has said if we don't exchange tomorrow its off (although that threat um....5 ... now I think)
