"We should be able to sign off your file today ready for exchange tomorrow" *keeps fingers, toes and arms crossed*0

Something fishy going on if you ask me. I've even managed to speak to the head of sales at the estate agents and rather than telling me they will sort it i'm getting asked "why would they pull out" and "would they really do that over a couple of weeks". Honest answer is i don't know if their threats are serious or not!! I just want to get some clarity on the situation. I don't even care when we move i could do tomorrow or 3 weeks!!
If you ask me doesn't sound like my seller wants to move until end of the month and he's trying to delay things. Why would someone not urgently want to have £580K deposited into their bank account as soon as possible!!1 -
My seller is saying that if the Stamp Duty is extended today, they may be willing to break chain and move out ahead of finalising their purchase - seems a bit backwards to me - and on the flipside sounds a bit like if it doesn't get extended they will be staying put?? Everyone else is ready we are all just waiting for their searches to come back - due on Friday.
GRRRR!!!0 -
Worried about that too - if its extended i think my seller will just put this off for later.Coopsy85 said:My seller is saying that if the Stamp Duty is extended today, they may be willing to break chain and move out ahead of finalising their purchase - seems a bit backwards to me - and on the flipside sounds a bit like if it doesn't get extended they will be staying put?? I'm living in half a house!1 -
@Cuddlybearman Same, I think my husband is going to strangle me soon - everytime he asks where something is my answer is 'packed', major tantrum from him this week because the bbq utensils have been packed.

Well after some pretty (close to the wire) strongly worded emails to the sellers EA - finally got an email saying "the solicitor is looking at this file this afternoon" Great that's about as solid as hot chocolate.
In the meantime my EA called me to say that if we don't exchange today he truly believes my buyers buyer will pull out and give up. That's been relayed to everyone else but whether they care or not I don't know.
What I'm really sick of is people telling me how busy they are like I'm supposed to accept that. I'm sorry but in my job I'm beyond busy every day of the week and telling customers internally and externally this is just not an acceptable excuse.
Then when you call at 1pm you get told "go they've gone offline for an hour for lunch"2 -
Exactly the bit about the 'busy' stuff. If they're so busy to the point at which the business doesn't function, they shouldn't be accepting any new business at all.Cuddlybearman said:Well after some pretty (close to the wire) strongly worded emails to the sellers EA - finally got an email saying "the solicitor is looking at this file this afternoon" Great that's about as solid as hot chocolate.

They ought to get McDonalds to overhaul the property business.
Things would get bought and sold in a week.
