  • Still going..........final search not back yet but all enquiries so far replied and done. weekend of the 12th March is being banded around as a potential completion...............do i dare to dream?

BTW - i take it exchange and completions can only take place on a week day right?
  • Hey so no further news on the last document needed from our solicitor to the buyers solictor following our current developers bankruptcy.
Still holding out for tomorrow.or friday then we could actually complete next Friday (not holding my breath). This move should have been straight forward without a chain!

My other half is not doing so good, working from home and being in an area he now totally dislikes he has hit rock bottom. Nothing I say or suggest works either so I am worried for him which in turn upsets me. It's a situation beyond our control except for contacting EA or solictor for an update. Lockdown and house moving isnt easy. No where to go and the focus is solely on this move, not healthy. Does feel good to air concerns on here though. Congrats to those who have completed or exchanged, hoping to be where you are very soon.
  • Anyone else ever feel like just giving up? I'm not going to, but feel like it sometimes when it seems like it will never get there.

The tagline for conveyancers (and everyone generally involved with house buying) should be,
'House buying can be a fun and exciting time. We'll ensure it's not'
As things plod along, we're remembering those heady days back in October, when we started  this nightmare, when the stamp duty deadline in March was such a distant threat it was obvious we'd be done and dusted waaaay before then.
    Oh, how naïve we were.
    😂😂😂😂 how true this is!

Just had the phonecall! Completion agreed for 26th and exchanging tomorrow or Friday!
    🥳🥳 brilliant news congrats

Ive been told our solicitor should’ve received draft transfer today so fingers crossed we will be joining you with completion next Friday 🤞🏻
We signed contracts ages ago and transferred completion statement funds so it should all move quickly as soon as we get the nod!

This was me - the impact is huge. All I have been able to do is focus on the end goal of being in my new home in a lovely part of the world, I have ordered and planned lots of lovely treats for us when we get there.....it is all consuming I can’t wait to have nothing to talk about 😂
  • I certainly feel like giving up often. On Monday I really did give up, cried on the phone to the purple bricks call centre and told my partner I didn’t think we would ever be able to buy the house. It felt like we moved heaven and earth to get the issue we had been struggling with since November finally resolved that day. But we did. Then, today, my solicitor found another (seemingly minor and easy to fix) issue with the contract. Why she couldn’t notice this before I don’t know. But I don’t feel like giving up today. Let’s see how I feel at the end of the week if it still hasn’t been resolved. We are aiming to complete on Tuesday so it’s very tight.
Good luck to everyone, it’s a difficult time to be moving house, as someone said unthread, there is nothing else to focus on, and living in and working from home in a town/place you hate makes it’s really tough.

My solicitor literally won’t talk dates at all until we have had contract to sign and solicitor bills paid. Everything is done as of last week .. hope you are not waiting too much longer
