Solicitors off today so expecting exchange to happen tomorrow, I won’t feel fully relieved until it does!

Today was our day of exchange. Instead, today has been the day our sale collapsed. Devastated.

Having never stated their intention to extend our house, or raised any enquiries about this, at the 11th hour they've re-read the deeds and realised they can't extend the house the way they want to. If they'd told us when they viewed, we'd have told them this. Surely, if this is your intention, you check at the outset. Fuming.

Back to the start we go.... :(
Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this. What an awful thing to do on the day of exchange!
  • Oh @amyr that’s so terrible and everyone’s fear!
We have had radio silent from the buyers solicitor since Friday  every day our solicitor has said he’s chased we are just waiting on them to exchange. Losing our mind even the place we are buyer the agent is getting annoyed and said she feels someone’s not being straight. I feel like I’m going crazy! Apparently our buyers still keen but I don’t know if I believe that anymore

My solicitor has never called me. He has a dictaphone and dictates letters that his secretary then types up, saves as a PDF and emails to me!!

I just wish our solicitor would have some communication with us!!  :#
  • Yeah, no clue what's going on here, a few weeks of radio silence.

I would never instruct a relic conveyancer for exactly that reason. Our conveyancer do everything on a online portal called eway they and I can upload documents, read and store documents. I can also see when they emailed the vendors solicitor or EA and when they emailed me and when i emailed them. The is a graph that also shows progress and whats left to do. This is the second purchase we have used them with and both are coming in less than 12 weeks from instruction. I think they are reasonably priced but I didn't get any quotes from other forms this time round.

I hope you all get some good new real soon, chin up and keep looking forward.
