A chain of 10😱.That would completely freak me out. We were initially 2nd from top in chain of 5 but after breaking chain when our vendors pulled out, were promoted to 1st place. That was stressful enough and took from end Aug to 8th Jan to complete.
Been in temp accommodation for 4 weeks and like you, incurred over £2k removal costs PLUS storage. If it was only a week, I’d do everything in my power to get chain to agree a brief delay. The upheaval of short term accomm & associated admin complications, should not be underestimated!
Good luck!

Just gave authority to exchange! We are link 2 in a chain of 6 or 7. I've lost count. I've been told this might take all day so not to expect a phone call straight away.5

Agreed - temp accommodation is definitely not the easy solution it may seem!badger09 said:A chain of 10😱.That would completely freak me out. I signed mine in the solicitors office.... They've stayed open throughout. Is that an option?annetheman said:Anyone had issues getting a witness to sign contract?

Good idea but sadly the solicitors' offices are in central London. I would go to the office if it didn't mean taking public transport. Had COVID twice, no thanks again.Caz_Mnaz said:

Now WFH permanently from the shires in a small town and don't really know anyone here; sort of know only 2 neighbours, 1 of whom is really freaked out about implications of signing as a witness and the other is never in but happy to!
Friends and family all live at least 50 miles away
argh! Hoped to get it in the post by 17:00 today *cries*

Wow, thanks! I will try to get neighbour Mr Catch Me if You Can this afternoon, he has texted back an hour ago to say "whenever I am free" but he is not in!!! So I've given him 3 times today I can pop by before 17:00 today.... If not, I will message you as not too far in Welwyn Garden City! As a last resort....oniongirl said:

Appreciate it!
I tried to convince the scared neighbour it could be literally anyone but she is terrified. I don't rate my success with that approach, but if all else fails.... lolDoodlebugs said:
