That's great news. Enjoy your new home.Fionaanne141 said:So......we’ve exchanged and agreed completion for 12th 💃 It feels like a lifetime but in really has only been since we made our October 19th
Exchange came a bit of the blue today as although we knew all enquiries were now satisfied, it seems my solictor decided to crack the whip and out of nowhere at 3pm she started contacting the rest of the chain and it was deal done by 4.45pm.Wouldn’t have happened without the amazing estate agents pushing the respective solictors though and they were the ones to agree the completion date accross the chain.
Good luck everyone! This forum is amazing and thank you for all keeping my sane by just reading that I wasn’t in this alone.1 -
Sorry @WiseOwl00 and @RoyalPlum - didn't realise your situations. Not sure why I thought you both might have missed the obvious.
Hopefully you won't be stuck away from your loved ones for too much longer.1 -
We have completed! You may know my story as fleur8. I posted here A LOT.Today, the lender didn’t release funds until 3.30pm due to a last minute complication. We also didn’t get a call before exchange? Weird but so happy!!!
Here’s my timeline:
July - Offer accepted
August - Survey done, vendor requested 3 weeks to complete some works
September - Mortgage offer issued
October - Enquiries received but co-freeholder yet to send some necessary forms
November - Co-freeholder demands a lease extension and will not send the above forms until lease agreed
December - Still waiting on the above
End of January - Everything received
Simultaneous exchange and completion today. This has been an almost 6 month journey. It was difficult and I’ve never felt such stress before. I mean today, my stress levels were off the charts as we thought we weren’t going to get our funds. But honestly, as soon as I walked through my front door, all the stress completely dissolved. I feel so so so good. It is so worth it. Good luck everyone.10 -

Congrats! I was using you as my barometer of when to give up hope. Looks like it's today 😂watermelonspring said:We have completed! You may know my story as fleur8. 😂 it’s been a bloody mental experience! And then to top it off, I got chucked off this board for requesting to delete some of my posts that were a bit sarcastic! Bet I’ll get done again now. So if I don’t get to post again, goodbye and thanks everyone haha!oniongirl said:

I think we may be in this boat now... been reading others experiences and it really isn’t a fun process - the excitement after having an offer accepted soon dwindles...!
our chain is: our buyer (FTB) - us - house we are buying - house sellers are buying (they only found this house in Jan 😬)
Here’s our timeline so far:
Early Dec found house wanted to buy
13/12 our house on market
17/12 offers accepted on sale & purchase
18/12 solicitor instructed
21/12 1st mortgage applied for
4/1 all docs to solicitor (closed for two weeks over Christmas!)
6/1 searches sent out
13/1 survey received
19/1 searches back
27/1 2nd mortgage app (first lender wouldn’t lend enough)
3/2 verbal mortgage offer, both parties up the chain ready to exchange (came as a surprise!), our buyer awaiting final enquiries. Our buyer’s solicitor has been the slower out of the group but so far I can’t complain, now we just wait for them to be ready!1 -
We are finally discussing dates !!
We accepted an offer on our house in Sep, to who we were told were cash buyers & their buyer was pushing for a quick sale. We had an offer accepted on a property in Oct and it was Nov before the chain was complete.
We are relocating & originally said we would break the chain as the chain above was quite abit further on in the process.
Fast forward to Monday 01/02 I received an email from Sky to say my phone/broadband is being disconnected on 15/02 as theyve had a request from another isp 😅 I obviously missed the memo on that one, as did my estate agent 😂
Today i had a call from the estate agent saying that the chain above had agreed on a completion date of 10/02 but my solicitor suggested 17/02. My buyer was apparantly kicking off abit as we said we would break the chain. It now turns out were only 1 week infront of our purchase, so delaying by a week will save us approx 2k in removal/storage/rental fees.
We are now waiting to see if the whole chain will accept 17/02. If there is an issue we will break the chain as we are now in the middle of a chain of 10 😬0
