Thanks, I understand a general milestone, but due to COVID we are being given dates that are not much more than a week away, then being told 2 days before that it isn't happening.Caz_Mnaz said:Mine never offered a date or even a month! I remember when we instructed on our sale/purchase in Nov he said we'll aim for before end of March but have your SD ready in case and we'll see how we go.
Risk of that of course is no urgency or milestone for people to work to!
Surely they know that it is going to be longer than a week if they don't even starting reviewing the enquires for that long!
Since people keep talking about same day exchanges/completions, I am worried it will end up being really short notice.0 -
Great to see so many of you have exchanged. I signed and returned the mortgage deeds today. Life insurance sorted. Does this look like I'm ready to exchange?0

We did all that in November and we're still waiting.Sotts said:Great to see so many of you have exchanged. I signed and returned the mortgage deeds today. Life insurance sorted. Does this look like I'm ready to exchange?
Depends on how good your conveyancing team is and what else they've already done.0 -
We are in this exact position but further down the chain, and have been asked for same day exchange/completion on the 12th! Maybe you are in our chain, you aren't in Hampshire are you?Bobziz said:We are at the top of a 5 link chain and are selling a house on behalf of our aged mother who has late stage dementia and is recovering from COVID. There is a risk that she may not be with us much longer, in which case the whole thing would fall apart whilst we applied for probate. Given the risk, we have been advised to exchange and complete on the same day, being the 12th. What could possibly go wrong ! Good luck all.0 -
I've sent my deposit, my savings account looks very sad and empty
no contract signed yet, as I realised my scanner would need me to scan 56 individual pages and I do not have the time/patience for that so waiting for hard copy. I predict I'll exchange next week Friday, latest they'll get my hard copy returned by Current debt-free wannabe stats:Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

I did this a few weeks back, guess it depends where the rest of the chain are up to. We're good to go, but the vendor isn't in a position to exchange yet.Sotts said:Great to see so many of you have exchanged. I signed and returned the mortgage deeds today. Life insurance sorted. Nice to see lots of positive news on here recently. Hope everything works out for those of you having issues.
Still no news about if the probate issue at the top of the chain has been resolved and I’m still waiting to hear if my lender has agreed to extend my offer. I’m not even sure how long this takes. I did get a notification on Monday to say I had a new hard search from them so at least I know they are looking at it.

Through my process (due to complete Friday and exchanged Tuesday) I have found you have to apply maximum pressure on solictors and your EA...be relentless..it’s the only way you get things going and staying in motion...keep going all...this is the most frustrating time ever and I’m never moving again but there is light at the end of a very very long tunnel.CodeMatcha said:

Purplebricks’ appointed solicitors continue to demonstrate their incompetence.

Thanks, I honestly have been, but the sellers solicitors just doesn't seem to bother responding.mowgliisaG said:

I've spoken to my solicitor and the EA almost every day recently.
I've been asking the EA to request that the sellers keep chasing their solicitor, but I've recently found out that they are the EA's chosen in-house solicitor, so I bet that hasn't been passed on to them.0
