Just had an update, waiting on 4 more enquiries to be answered on our vendors onward purchase, but only delay could be that it could be the management company that have to answer them (vendors buying leasehold).Fingers crossed they can get the answers back this week and we can be in a position to exchange next week! Got everything crossed 🤞🏼🤞🏼1

Good news! Solicitor says "we should be ready to exchange this week" and is sending me the bank details to send deposit to today - mortgage has been approved and the last step is waiting for Kent Reliance to confirm 29th Feb for funds release day!
I am hoping for a Friday exchange, then 3 weeks to completion, fingers crossed. Reading this thread has not instilled me with confidence it'll go smoothly

Thought we'd join this thread now, in theory we're getting near to exchange and completion, although it looks like they're a heck of a long way away at the moment.
We're in a short chain of three with us in the middle.
We just need enquiries to be finished but we can't get conveyancers to send them to each other. Well, not just send them, but get them to the person they're supposed to get to without disappearing into whichever abyss they've been falling into.
We've spent five weeks waiting for them to email each other and it seems like it's a bar they can't even stumble over.
Estate agents don't seem to be bothered either.
And if another person says 'I'll ring you back' and then never rings us back, I'm going to go insane.0 -
Thank you! Have you heard anything?RoyalPlum said:

I don't understand why we keep being given completely unrealistic completion dates by solicitors who then do nothing to progress the sale in time... so we get everything ready to move and then can't contact anyone (except our own solicitor who is apparently ready) until the last exchange date has sailed past. Then we get told they are still reviewing enquires from a week ago.
Wouldn't it make more sense to just not offer us a date until everything was ready? The whole process would have been so much less stressful if I wasn't physically and mentally preparing to move every week.
(sorry, just a minor rant)0 -
Mine never offered a date or even a month! I remember when we instructed on our sale/purchase in Nov he said we'll aim for before end of March but have your SD ready in case and we'll see how we go.
Risk of that of course is no urgency or milestone for people to work to!0 -
We are at the top of a 5 link chain and are selling a house on behalf of our aged mother who has late stage dementia and is recovering from COVID. There is a risk that she may not be with us much longer, in which case the whole thing would fall apart whilst we applied for probate. Given the risk, we have been advised to exchange and complete on the same day, being the 12th. What could possibly go wrong ! Good luck all.1

I've been patiently waiting (well, most of the time) for the last 7 months, and I'm just so fed up of it now. The bank need to revalue the house due to their error, and I'm just so scared it's going to take weeks for them to do. I can't deal with weeks!
