Completing today... been up since 5am! Hoping the fact the property is empty and we've been ready a while will mean we get the keys early!4

Feeling like another week has gone by & not holding my breath for exchange today, which we had thought vendors would be in a position to do this week 😬 Have asked sols to check that we can still set completion for 2 weeks time as exchange should be imminent.....0

We have just decided on a completion date of 19th Feb!!
However the solicitor has told me to think about if i want same day exchange/completion or a gap in between. We have a month overlap with our rental flat so theres no rush for us to be out on completion so I'm leaning towards letting the vendor decide because they might need a gap to book moving vans etc.
Eeeek so close!!3 -

I'm not even hoping to exchange today (well I was, but its not going to happen) let alone complete, and I've been awake since 3.30 & up shortly afterwards.
Hope your move goes without a hitch and you love your new home.1 -
Congratulations janoid19. I've just phoned my EA to ask her to contact the vendor to chase her solicitor and said we'd agreed 11 March on the phone as completion date - but nothing in writing yet. The EA recommended a week between exchange/completion. I'm in a rental too but will end up paying another month's rent unfortunately.£216 saved 24 October 20140

Our solicitor told me pros and cons for both exchange options and said have a think and let me know which you would like but I'm struggling to decide so I emailed the EA and asked her to see what the Vendors would prefer haha.0 -
Seller just called me to say his solicitor had asked him for his preferred completion date, so I guess that means mine contacted him at last. Completion date suggested by the seller is 15th Feb, he just wanted to check with me before suggesting it to his solicitor. Fingers crossed we can finally get the exchange happening now. I haven't heard anything from my solicitor yet, but hopefully he'll let me know when he hears from the seller's solicitor.1
