Well the call came, they have the released the keys but I am at work until 2.45! its going to be a long couple of hours!

We exchanged!!!! Its been such a rollercoaster of a day.

Started out hearing nothing... then finding out they hadnt been able to get in touch with my buyer who need to authorise exchange but was likely asleep in Australia.. Estate agent got through to her via text.

Then I get a frantic call from my solicitor saying can i get my hands on any money because my vendor is insisting on the 10% deposit being flowed through....... Luckily we had the funds and could transfer but rather annoying since I asked my sol if this would be an issue if we didnt flow through the full 10% and she said it wouldnt....!!

But we got there! Still a couple hours left of the day, hope it brings more good news for you all

Commiserations to all of us still in the waiting phase! I've never been glued to my phone and emails so much in my life. I got rather excited when my phone buzzed earlier but it turned out to be a message from my phone provider about some special offer or something. The disappointment was unbelievable!

I've spoken to my sol to pay the extra needed (she asked me to call back). Everyone is still waiting on the mortgage companies confirming release of funds.

Looks like no champagne for me tonight

So finally got some clarity on what is happening with my chain. Turns out someone (and their solicitor) in the middle of the chain can't add up! Deposit from house sale + mortgage does not give them the agreed purchase price of the house they are buying. Unbelievable. So now they have to reapply for mortgage and the rest of us have to just wait. People like this shouldn't be allowed to buy a bag of chips, let alone a house. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
