Ohhhh three completions today - congrats guys.
You show us all there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm also useless in work, luckily it's quiet but that does make it drag as well.
Welcome to the mad house Amanda. It is entirely possibly they've only just instructed a Sol especially if they're only just found their onward purchase. When you say you've signed a contract I take it you mean the one for your solicitors. You won't have signed the exchange contracts until all the searches and enquiries have been done, these are done by your solicitor.0 -
Hi guys
Fairly new to this thread.
Had my offer accepted on a house on Monday. Tuesday solicitors instructed. Wednesday Full mortgage application in.
Now the wait begins on the mortgage.
I’m applying to nationwide via a broker.
Apart from my ID broker and my tax forms he hasn’t asked for any other documents.
What further documents are they likely to ask ?
I know some people get txt updates. My broker said this wasn’t the case. How can I get updates on my mortgage application? And what’s the likely timescale ?
Really nervous and anxious about this part !!!0 -

Mortgage company wants more money - but apparently the fact that they've done their completion statement is a good thing.
So still I wait.
Money for what??Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857
Mortgage now -- £350,085 BTL now --- £162,6680 -
CTG- I'm in the exact same position as you but with the proposed completion date as the 31st. Hoping the mortgage company will confirm the release of funds today! Haven't slept a wink. Fingers crossed for you.0

Just a bank transfer - nothing much. It has just been missed off their initial quote (my sol isn't on their lenders panel so I paid some extra fees).
Fingers crossed for you Midwifelife
Fisa002 - I had to provide pay slips, bank stmts showing deposit, P60 and prof of address and copy of passport I think. My broker kept me updated with my progress and afraid the how long question is unanswerable. Each provider is different and it depends on the survey results.0 -
CommitedToChange, searches are ready too. We sign the actual exchange contract and Title transfer + more supporting documents.
Really hope it won't take too long but hey when I see most of your timelines... wow. Is a slow slow process. Just about 5 weeks for us till now.
I am chasing estate agents and solicitors every week.
They are already fed up with me but if is going slow I will ring them every single day. Is not like we are in a rush to leave where we rent now. Is just for the sport lol0 -
Amanda - I'm very surprised your solicitor has fine everything before the seller even instructed a solicitor, very risky as you have had to pay for all of that that even if they change their mind ( which can happen anytime, but even riskier with no sol instructed). Who told you they'd only just got one?
They must have had one as your sol needs information from them for you for the exchange documents that you've signed.0 -
Fisa002, we applied to Nationwide via broker but they needed just latest payslips and bank statements from me and my partner. Just one each. Both of us are employed and we don't have any debs.
We got text messages from Nationwide directly. Ask your broker why that's not the case in your situation. In the end of the day he/she is the person you are paying to deal with it and to inform you about everything related.0 -
CommitedToChange, we just paid £350 to them so they start the searches etc.
The rest is due to be paid prior exchange with the deposit. They said there is no more fees if we don't exchange for any reason. Just this £350.
Our solicitor told me today. She was trying to contact them but they didn't return the calls. We are using one of these online solicitors so I can see when the calls were made in my profile of their website. So today finaly she told me Sellers solicitors been intructed just few days ago.0
