I` was on the phone with Buildnings insurance around 4pm telling them not to set it to start today after all as i hadnt heard anything all day when the Solicitor called to say we had exchanged...cant believe it...im in major panick mode. Completion next friday - we are child free for next week as well so its a mad rush to pack and start arranging all the DIY we need to do

Glad you went to see them CTC, and were reassured! Hopefully you'll see progress next week.
Our 'top of the chain' is now one link longer but it seems they are buying a vacant property, so if we can trust everyone that what they are saying is true, we might be a month or less from being ready. Still frustrating when I thought we might exchange next week! Hey ho, the beat goes on.0 -
Off to the post office to send off the contract documents to the solicitors this morning, just waiting on the searches now. Have booked a couple of weeks off in march as all seems on track to complete before then.0

Yay for progress!
We had confirmation that our buyer has given her permission to exchange while she is away in Australia, she has signed everything and transferred her deposit. They are as ready as they can be for exchange so we have decided we are allowed to start packing. Even if our purchase goes horribly wrong we will still sell.
Now to hope our vendor pulls his finger out when he gets back in the country today and answers the last of the enquiries!!
I think we are aiming for exchange mid week, or end of week at latest and currently working to Feb 5th completion if possible!
So exciting.,,,
My only hurdle is my downstairs neighbour and her ex/current husband who are the other freeholders. Need them to sign the TR1 forms and ID1 forms... except she doesn't understand why she has to provide photo ID and won't go to a photobooth and get photos, and really couldn't possibly get to Bournemouth (5 miles away!!!) to see my solicitor to get them witness. Great, that's another £90 down the drain for us while I pay for a public notary to visit her house to sign everything. If she doesn't have the info she needs when he visits I will shoot her!!
Counting down the dayshave a good weekend all!

A bit of help....my sol asked yesterday for further proof of my funds. He would not accept a screen shot of my banking statement (don't get many paper statements these days). He sent me a letter received today, saying they cannot proceed without proof of funds (he could have asked me weeks ago!!). What proof have you provided that has been accepted? I will just print mini-online statements as PDFs, problem is 2 accounts have been closed this week with funds in my current account ready to transfer next week, so i don't have online access to those 2 accounts again.0

Mutley I’ve had to go into my bank, have them print off a paper statement and stamp it to prove its authenticity, then give the hard copies to the person asking for it (I think it was my mortgage broker). Apparently the screen shots and printed statements from online banking need to show your address etc, which mine didn’t. It’s a hassle!0

As long as mine had my address and bank details on my sol was happy.
Coop and virgin I could print off, TSB I had to go into the bank for.
I had options to download smts which had the correct details on, screen shots didn't work.0 -
I only provided screenshots - the building society was an ar*e about everything else but for some reason was fine about that.
That was for the mortgage though - the solicitor hasn't asked for anything yet!0 -

Damn money laundering rules - where you're guilty until proven innocent!I went through weeks of this nonsense to get me mortgage offer approved. Make sure any online printouts have the web address on header/footer.0 -

i don't mind the rules, but solicitor only sent me a letter yesterday asking for all this information and due to complete Friday 26th! In his letter it states all information must be received prior to source of funds! hence i don't have much time.0
