  • Well, not quite sure how that happened - but we've exchanged!!

    Woo hoo

    Wonderful news
  • Wow great news and a lovely surprise I bet!!

    SLM

Crazy couple of hours, no contact at all - then an email saying if you can get your deposit over to us this afternoon we can exchange contracts today. Didn't have buildings insurance lined up so had to quickly do that too - was reluctant to do it too early with the vendors solicitor not committing to an exchange today.

Huge sigh of relief, can enjoy the weekend and start packing properly now

Oh dear - I did have a panic to be honest, had set the solicitors up as a payee ready to go on my online banking, forgetting a needed the NatWest card reader again to make an initial payment to them - luckily found it in the bottom of my handbag.

Thanks everyone, one week til moving day!
  • Today on the show Will CTC ever actually get to buy this house.

Are her vendors actually sorting stuff out at the solicitors right now?

Will she ever get a firm completion date?

Should she give up, book an expensive holiday and drink wine?

    Stay tuned to find out.

I may be slowly losing my marbles. :rotfl: oh and my sol didn't reply to my email this morning, but since it makes no difference at all and I'm sure she's busy with actual completions and exchanges I can't even be bothered to chase her until 4.50.
  • Fingers crossed for you ..either way i will have a [STRIKE]Glass[/STRIKE]bottle of wine for you :)

Signed papers today, but my sol now wants to ask for a indemnity policy on right of way access to a side road which the house has a gate access, but road is not owned by the council.
  • Yep, nothing for me. They didn't even contact my sol to agree an exchange/completion date.

I'm starting to believe this is all going to fall through.

Super tempted to go talk to the vendors over the weekend - thoughts?
