Fingers crossed for you Littlebobo981! The excitement will return, I think it's just the stress of dealing with everything that takes the edge off it a little bit until you've actually exchanged. Do let us know when you get the call!
My mortgage offer was sent out yesterday; took a bit longer than anticipated as the lender wasn't overly happy that I was temporarily living with my parents whilst the sale goes through (the house belongs to my ex-partner and I) - my mortgage broker basically told them not to be so stupid(!). Needless to say I breathed a huge sigh of relief yesterday, but I'm not entirely out of the woods yet whilst we wait for exchange.0 -
Will do ...My solicitor only works until 4 so i'm starting to get a teeny weeny bit IMPATIENT !!!0

I feel like I can finally join this threat now! I've read this whole thread from front to back and it's both made me very excited, and also terrified at the same time!
My timeline:
06/11 - 1st viewing
9/11 - AIP confirmed & second viewing
10/11 - offer at asking price made and confirmed. Told we can't have the flat unless we use the inhouse mortgage company, or until our mortgage comes through. We stick with our broker.
11/11 - solicitor's instructed. Told someone else has made the same offer as us, which has been accepted and it's a "race to the mortgage". Not happy but carry on.
12/11 - sent the selling docs from EA but they just have my name on, not my partner's. Asked for an updated copy.
13/11 - chase for updated copy of doc.
15/11 - valuation, finally receive updated copy of the document with both our names on!!
16/11 - valuation confirmed
18/11 - mortgage confirmed, told EA
19/11 - finally confirmed with EA that vendor is happy and the property is off the market.
We are FTB and while the flat is lovely, we really do feel like we've gone through the mill with the EA. I think everyone around us thinks we're mad for carrying on in the process even though we were being messed around, but with our budget in our area the flat is such a good size, and the location is good for both me and my partner in terms of work, location to town, close to our families etc. We're on the crossrail link and the prices are just extortionate round here, for a similar size property we were looking at least £10k more.
It's been a learning curve already, hoping the process is a bit smoother going forward! Sol already taken 3 days so far to reply to an email about our Help to Buy ISAs though, so feel like it's going to be an upward struggle...0 -
Couldn't bear it ..chased my solicitor still waiting for deposit to come from people at the start of the chain ( first time buyers) ..SIGH ...0

I've got my fingers crossed for you littlebobo.
I'm calm at the moment as nothing can happen until after 4pm for me - I've booked a spa afternoon for Monday, so lunch then 2hrs in the spa followed by a back massage. Bliss and I could use the relaxation.
Welcome to the madhouse ChicaBonita, it's awful buying a house, but people keep telling me it will be worth it.0 -
Thanks CTC, got the day off on Monday too ..planning on trying to not check my email/phone every 0.2 seconds and just chill ....think this is all totally out of my control now !0
-
Not gonna bother chasing today, might make me seem desperate.
How long would it take for a buyers deposit to be uploaded to the solicitor ? I presume this is what is keeping me waiting.0 -
Thanks Committed, I have asked several people if it's worth it and they assure me it is! I'm going to be an alcoholic before the end of the process :rotfl: Enjoy the spa, I could do with some of that!!0
