Truly, truly, truly waiting to exchange here after a flurry of activity!

Documents all signed on Friday, our buyers still be annoyingly pushy.
Viewed the new property this am, fallen back in love with it's potential.
Owners were there so we talked dates and we gave in (there's a theme here) but suggested an 'earlier by mutual consent' addition which we think will be agreed.

Consent to exchange given, the sale piece was 'done' by they were waiting for the reply from the purchase. I assume the done isn't actually done unless the other half is also done???

Had fun and games getting the insurance sorted because of the long delay between exchange and completion but that's now sorted.

Removals booked, they asked to do it in 2 halves, which actually suits us because a lot is ready to go.

    This might actually happen!!!
    We have exchanged!
Brilliant news really pleased for you
  • Our latest update is the buyers solicitors are currently awaiting signed documents. Wow. I thought the buyers had already signed! So news to me. With postal strikes I’m very doubtful we will get this over the line before Christmas now. Sigh.
  • Another day. Still waiting to exchange. Apparently all have requested funds from bank. However we don’t know if very bottom has but working on the assumption they have if the next one up has.
Due to complete on Friday but now very bottom solicitor is off tomorrow so we can’t exchange until Wednesday to complete a chain of 5 by friday! So stressed it’s ridiculous

I think I really could see the future when I picked my Username.

They've just raised another enquiry now. ANOTHER ONE!

I know they have a right to but they are spreading them out, which makes me think they don't want to exchange/complete before Christmas.

The buyers were planning to send back the contracts back early this week but had some questions for their solicitor so with mail strikes/backlog....

I feel like I'm nagging everyone as I've said that I really need to know by the end of tomorrow if we are a position to complete on the 21st as I need to book a mover.

The buyers are renting and haven't given in notice yet so they don't have to worry.

I've still got 50% of a house to empty and a mover to find with a weeks notice.

I've also got to prepare the furniture as it is going into a storage container!

I'm still recovering from covid and I've picked up a cold/flu thing so I'm running on limited capacity.

I also have done nothing to prepare for Christmas! No presents or anything as I haven't had time.

I swear my hair is going to fall out from stress!

    Rant over.

    @EndlessStruggle
i totally get this.  We are hoping to move on 21st and need to arrange time off work and sort out removals too.
    Such a frustrating process
  • Another day of no apparent progress for us, and with it pretty much condemning any hope of a move before Christmas. Had hoped that when probate was granted on 21st Nov for the place we are buying things would move pretty quickly from there - not in the land of probate and conveyancing as nearly 3 weeks later we still haven’t got a contract to sign! Frustrated and fed up!
  • I see a lot of us in similar positions here, it doesn’t half take it out of you. It literally takes over your life! Every waking minute is spent wondering if/when/how. You can’t enjoy anything because it’s always there, lingering like a big cloud over your head.

For us, we’re literally waiting on the buyers. This whole process has been dragged out far too long imo. FTB no chain - 5 months in! Frustrating isn’t the word. Lets hope something happens, at least, before Christmas for us all.
