The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

Well as far as we were aware all enquiries etc had been answered, all searches back. A completion date of the 9th December was suggested today.

now all of a sudden my cash buyers are wanting a survey!! They’ve had all of October and November but now they want one. 

Is this just now a last minute way to try and reduce the price 🙈 feel like there goes any chance of pre Christmas moving now

Our mortgage funds are already with our solicitors so we just need confirmation that our buyers are ready to exchange. I’ve just got our EA to chase. Apparently the buyers sols won’t confirm exchange until they have the mortgage funds 🥹

Good luck to you too!! When is your completion date? Ours is tomorrow!! 

We too are due to exchange, Thursday. Chain of 6 and the very bottom have gone quiet. EA say it’s normal to go quiet but I’m not so sure

Exchange got delayed so moved the date to today. Got a call at 11am saying.... the buyer had reduced his offer by £10k, what a complete **** after waiting 9 months getting to this point.Gave final counter offer that demands exchange completion by this Friday or we have to go back to putting it on the market. What a time to drop the offer though. 😡

We just exchanged to complete Thurs. We have a mad amount of stuff to do now.

What a ****! Fingers crossed it all falls into place. These situations make me wonder whether calling their bluff is worth it. Are they this close and really willing to pull out? Keep us updated with the counter offer outcome!

@1616six I had a clear out of the cupboards to give them a pre clean and found stuff with 2014 use by dates on them 🤣🤣

Ah well done! We still haven’t exchanged. An hour ago I was told the buyers mortgage funds were due with their solicitors any minute. So looks like exchange and completion on the same day. What a stress!!

Good luck. We’ve been told completion can’t be done tomorrow and will get a completion date as soon as the legal file is in order!! In the meantime our sellers sols have said they will re advertise the property if we haven’t completed by the end of the week. 

Anyone an opinion on the re advertising? Surely would be daft for them to start the process again now we are so close, but it’s still so stressful
