If there's one thing I've learnt on this thread its that even the best laid plans go awry

So good to hear of so many exchanges/completions. We are in limbo… again.
Call last Thursday stating we should be good to exchange and complete by 28th (our second mortgage deadline)
Email from my solicitor yesterday saying I should think about an extension. After many frantic emails I find this is an automated email as their system is showing my mortgage is nearing its deadline and they were going to chase an update. I can’t get an extension with no dates on when to extend too..
Email from sellers solicitor to mine saying since last Thursday they’ve heard nothing and can’t get hold of their onward purchase solicitors.
Call to estate agents today to see if they can speak to anyone and the contact they did have further up the chain told them they are still waiting an update on the deed of variation which I was told was complete and into lender two weeks ago.
Honestly don’t know who’s telling porkies when I speak to them, so many twisted tales/changes in stories 😩1 -
We are waiting to exchange but feeling so frustrated. Our process should have been relatively simple, we are buying a house that was a rental, and our house is being bought by someone as a buy to let.
Just as everything was lined up and we were discussing exchange dates it emerged our buyer had gone on holiday for 3 weeks without signing anything! They returned back yesterday and we were hoping to exchange on Tuesday 19th and complete on Friday 22nd.
However he has decided not to go and sign the papers until Thursday 21st making our chosen move date impossible.
I feel so frustrated because both myself and my husband work in education and have these 2 weeks off. If it was just things taking a while to happen I wouldn't mind and would just accept it.
Fingers crossed it will all happen soon!
Anyone else experienced their buyer asking the same questions hundreds of times? We have been asked about our plug in fireplace 8 times now. We have been asked for electrical installation certificates, then to buy it, then for the installation certificates again and again!1 -
No exchange for us. Buyer went to transfer deposit this morning at the bank and forgot his ID. Has been told he can do it online but only in batches of £20k. So, again, no exchange. Frustrated is not the word.0
