So to everyone still waiting - we moved yesterday! After 5 1/2 months of offer accepted on our place and what is now our new home .

    This thread was strangely
comforting for me during the whole journey. Knowing we weren’t the only ones endlessly waiting and reading the success stories kept the hope alive that we would get there in the end .

Towards the end we had a seller threatening to pull out, despite most of the problems stemming from their online conveyancing firm!

Ironically this week things happened extremely fast exchanging on Wednesday and completing on Thursday.
That was stressful re finding removals and being packed in a day but tbh I didn’t care I was just so relieved to get to the end .

You will too even if it doesn’t feel like it. Good luck to all of
you who are nearly at the end point and to those of you still in the thick of it, keep going and chase solicitors and estate agents! It became a running joke at my workplace that every lunch half an hour was spent either sending emails or
    phoning. My friends
said buying and selling is stressful but that we had it particularly bad with our chain three .
We got there in the end though 🎉

    Congratulations - great news!!

contract all signed and monies with solicitor! Six hours of agonising wait to make sure it had actually gone to the right account!

One last enquiry in the vendors onward apparently and we should be good for exchange! Hoping for mid next week and a completion in two weeks!
    Exciting times!!

Tentively stepping over as ftb without a chain

We offered on 14th of March, increased our offer on 15th after some negotiation which was accepted

    Solicitors instructed on 18th March

Mortgage offer back on 25th March

We got our Draft contract on 24th March but are waiting for responses to some questions/ bits they forgot to fill in completely

Our solicitor is waiting on responses to searches and enquiries but I've no idea which ones.

Our survey is taking place today which I'm nervous about

It felt like everything was zooming along the first few weeks but has slowed a lot now

We've had the replacement mortgage offer confirmed today (after lots of effort from our broker!) which is great as the original had an error. Now broker trying to get paperwork across to our solicitor asap as we're ready to exchange and request funds. So we're still in with a chance of completing next Thursday.

The last few days have been exhausting and a roller coaster!

Got my Mortgage Offer today. Now just waiting on Searches to be complete before exchange. Hopefully not too much longer to go. Valuation was bang on with my offer.

    Don't forget the enquiries.
This stage comes after the searches are back and can often be the most time-consuming part taking weeks or even months to complete.
