Looks like another 3-4 weeks now before exchange . Right up to the deadline of my mortgage offer expiry … I’m exhausted from the whole thing
Oh no, how come so long?
The mining report they took ages to request for my vendors purchase has an issue . They are waiting for something else now to go with the report and apparently will need to get her mortgage company to agree it . I think with Easter as well . Had hoped to get key tomorrow or next week ;(

Top of our chain now arguing over a boiler certificate - something about an indemnity policy!!?
They’re usually quite quick but they’ll need to agree who’s paying 🙄
Yup - both sides refusing to pay. Wish we could just say “look, we’ll pay” - surely it’s going to be less than £100!!
We didn't have the paperwork for our boiler installation (done before we lived here) so we paid for an indemnity policy. It was £18.
I hope you manage to get it resolved!
Literally feel like paying myself even though we are only 2nd in the chain and the people in the chain are second to last and last!

I actually would offer to pay. It's really so little money.

Oh that is so rubbish! The mortgage companies seem to be taking a while as well to do anything at the moment.

Seriously considering it. We left our solicitor trying to contact the solicitors further up the chain to try and work out what’s gone on. We’ll hopefully hear more tomorrow!

I'm assuming it doesn't exist? If it does the owner can download a digital copy from online via gas safe for 6 quid - pdf arrives instantly, worth passing on as my vendor didn't know this and their sol didn't tell them and was instead pushing them to purchase indemnity through the firm - nice couple of hundred on the bill to arrange actually!

contract all signed and monies with solicitor! Six hours of agonising wait to make sure it had actually gone to the right account!

One last enquiry in the vendors onward apparently and we should be good for exchange! Hoping for mid next week and a completion in two weeks!

Cheers. Yeah, I’ve been looking at this! Problem is, not sure how we pass this up the chain as we have zero contact with the top. Our solicitor is trying to get hold of the solicitors at the top. We are two people away from the top of that makes sense…

Just sent the solicitor and estate agent a quick email asking them to pass this up the chain. Hoping it doesn’t put a spanner in the works/block in the (gas) pipe and we are cooking on gas there - see what I did there! 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
