Another day spent waiting/stressing over whether the sale will go through. Why do solicitors email you at the end of the day with issues then ghost you?Called/emailed and they’ve responded at 16:50 and now not available to contact - oh and they’re on holiday tomorrow and apparently don’t know how to advise who’s covering in their absence.0

How often are people badgering their solicitors?
All searches came back on the 15th February and at that point they said completion on the week of the 7th March was possible. That would really be the most ideal time for me since I'm not sure when I'd next be able to get time off work. They said they'd let everyone know that that's the date they're working towards, the sellers want to complete asap as well and are fine with that date. It's now been a week since and apparently they haven't looked at the file to see if there are any enquiries they need to raise from the searches yet. I don't imagine there'll be any issues and there is no chain either side so possible to exchange and complete on the same day. At the same time I really want to know that they're getting a move on. I'm also expecting an updated fixtures and fittings form that the sellers personally handed to their solicitors on the 14th that hasn't been passed to me yet.
Are people calling just once a week, twice a week? What would be considered excessive? I'm not going to be calling every day but once a week doesn't seem like enough of a prompt.0 -

we were told searches were all back but enquiries outstanding, then told all enquiries answered. Then they were reviewing our file and had more enquiries from the searches (extention potentially built over drain) not gone from working towards completing on 25th, to 4th to god knows when.
I would drop them an email just asking for an update and ask if there is anything they need from you. If no reply then give them a ring.
Baring in mind that mortgage funds take a few days to get before exchange. We need solicitor to have all enquiries satisfied tomorrow in order to request funds to complete on 4th... looking less and less likely 😢
I am sure my solicitor thinks 'not her agsin' 🤣 good luck.0 -

They just get sent back to the lender if the sale doesn't go ahead and you'll just get charged a couple of days interest.

My solicitor had to inform my lender that our new house has built over a drain, seller has been asked to pay indemnity insurance but solicitor is saying lender might restrict lending now. So Frustrating.0 -

We are selling a vacant house, no chain to FTBs who are friends with other members of our family. They seemed to be really excited and couldn't wait to be in and got their mortgage offer last week. All good?Apparently not. They have emailed the EA to say they now want a full building survey which, of course, they're perfectly entitled to do.Does this seem strange to anyone to be doing this at such a late stage? Everything else is ready to go.
We don't expect any major problems from a survey and we undertook a repair that may have cropped up earlier in the process.
TIA 😊0
